MVP is the frosting. It’s nice, tasty, but useless without the cake. (I have a friend who coaches the Olympic Team and constantly preaches “all cake, no frosting”) 2 Quote

RichStadiumGuy Posted Monday at 07:24 PM Posted Monday at 07:24 PM You can eliminate any of those "scenarios" that concern Kermit not playing. Kermit will be playing every single game and you can take that to the bank. As someone already mentioned he has a wonderfully silly habit of playing tiny little injuries to the point of near amputation and then ten minutes later he's back on the field limping around like a hero for the cameras so he can get some more ball washing from the announcers. 2 1 Quote

He looked noticeably hobbled at least one of those times there were questions about whether he’d play and he ended up playing through it. He definitely does seem like someone who will play up an injury though can’t argue that 😂 if he does have a nagging injury though trotting him out behind those bad OTs seems like a bit of a risk Edited Monday at 07:39 PM by Generic_Bills_Fan Quote
Success Posted Monday at 07:37 PM Posted Monday at 07:37 PM I think the 1 seed is going to be in play as we enter the final week of the season. 1 1 Quote

Allen will play as long as playoff seeding is relevant. If it’s not, he’ll sit or more likely be on a pitch count. I don’t think McD is a fan of sitting players. He certainly wouldn’t play Josh extra time for some MVP campaign. I doubt Allen would be interested either. He’s made his statement on the field already. 1 Quote

They shouldnt be favored in either game I’d be more confident about that if TJ Watt is healthy. Chiefs OTs are suspect to begin with. If Mahomes can’t go Saturday I can see a close game where the Texans sneak out with a W. Quote

If the following happens the bills will have the #2 seed locked up and may sit starters for 2 WHOLE WEEKS: #1 Kc Wins their next two games #2 Baltimore beats Pittsburgh but loses the following week against Houston. #3 Buffalo beats New England if bills W one and PIT L2 and balt/ Hou each lose 2 thrn thry are locked in at #2 seed and KC locked at 1 seed if PIT LL and BAL WL thr PIT/BAL tiebreaker goes down to strength of schedule and strength of victory. thr noncoomon games are PIT— Jets, colts, falcons while Ravens —Bills, Texans, Bucs . It will come down to who has the most W because within division and 2 other div cancel out. Balt has the edge. Quote

But otherwise Pittsburgh and Denver will almost certainly have something to play for and KC will get their best shots. Mahomes missing this week and losing to Houston sets the Bills up nicely. I think Pittsburgh can beat KC at home with or without Mahomes. Yes, they have "clinched", but I don't think they will be satisfied with the 4th seed and just sit back resting players. They were the "talk of the town" going into this season and now they're not mentioned much. I can't see them being just an "also ran" in their minds. They have a lot to play for beating the KC Chiefs. Quote

Bills!Win! Posted Monday at 08:29 PM Posted Monday at 08:29 PM Chiefs and Steelers is like a win-win for us. If Steelers lose we pretty much lock of the 2 seed. If the chiefs lose we have a small shot at the 1 seed still 1 Quote

If the 1 seed is still in play, or the 2 seed is still in doubt, we should be going full tilt as far as who’s starting and effort. Otherwise, I agree, rest the most valuable starters (Allen, Oliver, Benford, Cook, Cooper, etc) Quote
Charles Romes Posted Monday at 08:35 PM Posted Monday at 08:35 PM If we are locked into the 2 seed I would support a tank week 17-18 not for rest purposes but to keep the greatest players out of the division. The pats are currently drafting 3rd where Hunter will be if QBs go 1 and 2 as expected. Quote
The Wiz Posted Monday at 08:35 PM Posted Monday at 08:35 PM The only way I see Allen and even the rest of the starts playing week 18 is if the 1 seed is still in play. With Mahomes injury, that window might have opened. At the same time, I don't want them to fall out of the 2 seed so they should try to beat the brakes off NE and Jets in the first half of the game and then start pulling guys to keep them fresh for the playoffs.
