He's basically confused by all the complaints about Cooper and talks about how much of an influence he had on our passing game without a single target... all because of his gravity from just being on the field. The Orlovsky clip is the answer to all of these questions about Cooper. 3 2 Quote

I love this article. The Bills offense is great. Who's getting the ball? Defenses just don't know who to double. Who to look out for most. Everyone eats. Cooper gets it. GO BILLS! 4 2 Quote
Eastport bills Posted December 20 Posted December 20 With the offense operating at a prolific level, who cares where Cooper is. Josh is finding wide open RBs and TEs so defenses will have so much to think about and Coop and Coleman will probably get a bunch of single coverage going forward. With the threat of Josh taking off how do you defend this team? 1 Quote
starrymessenger Posted December 20 Posted December 20 I get the point and it's a good one but Cooper can do a lot more than draw coverage. In what remains of the season I'd like to see Josh and Cooper develop more chemistry in advance of the playoffs. I noticed a couple of plays versus the Lions where Coop had cleanly beaten his man on the outside for what looked to be 6 points. On one occasion it seemed to me like Josh looked his way but wound up going to the opposite side of the field. 1 1 Quote
Doc Posted December 20 Posted December 20 Good to see he knows his role in the offense and isn't upset at not getting the stats. 2 Quote

I actually think they will actively try to focus on the outside guys this game, I see Coleman getting more, but mostly bc Coop will get the attention. 1 Quote

Even the few times he has been targeted since he joined I don't think that Josh has made good throws to him. Cooper has shown good hands (on the ball that was lateraled to Josh for an TD) and excellent ball tracking ability. Hope the production is there after they have had a chance to work more together. You would reasonably expect that to happen. They are both vets and great players. I object to this a bit. There was that Willie Mays play, and the one-handed catch for 30 yards against the Chiefs, and of course the historic throw-catch-lateral-catch, double TD play... and a few other plays, so I think they've shown some chemistry. They just haven't had a lot of receptions yet but I'm hoping that they're keeping Cooper under wraps until a bit later and they still have 3 weeks to go before the playoffs even start so I'm hopeful. The bills obviously liked the matchup up in man to man coverage of Ty Johnson on a lb. It worked. Also the te had a good game. Coleman only had one catch on a broken play. Shakir didn’t light it up. That was a team win. I don’t think Hopkins has a catch either. Yeah I was glad to see the Bills not try to over-rely on Shakir. He's a guy I'd like to see healthy for the playoffs. No outburst on the sideline telling the QB "dont listen to him then." Please re-sign this guy next season. Surely they can find a one year deal that fits. Quote

Cole Beasley, John Brown, Gabe Davis rookie season. No Josh was not force feeding Diggs. It was probably Josh's best year for having weapons. Defenses also were new to the big passing game back then and were still trying to figure it out. This is not a knock on Diggs, but lets not stretch the truth. To the thread: I'm gonna give my take on Cooper. The "everybody eats" mantra is still there. It's just easier now that we have guys in every position that can make a defense pay. It was never about just spreading the ball around because we had no star. It was always about being able to throw to the weak part of coverage and actually game plan for that. Week to week this will change depending on what the defense is bad at. Thats "everybody eats." Edited December 21 by Scott7975 1 Quote
