I thought Bishop did pretty well today actually. Especially for a rookie Safety. NONE of our Safeties were as good in their rookie season as Bishop was today. Not even Hyde or Poyer.

Overall yes.  Glad to see he left the field with cramps and should be good to go next week.

I do know that Detroit picked on him a bit by throwing outside to Gibbs and it resulted in a pair of 10+ yard receptions.  Romo said he was late getting in position

We played 2 of the best play callers in the last 2 weeks. Both offenses have a ton of weapons, offenses were mostly healthy and played their A game. After seeing our defense last week I figured Detroit may hang 60 on us today.

This week we were without 3/4ths of our starting defensive backfield, lost Milano (again) and still started out forcing 2 punts in the first 4 Lion possessions. Buffalo did a good job stopping the run and forcing Detroit to be one dimensional today. Our odds of winning a game where Goff has to throw 59 passes....I like those odds.

People really have unrealistic expectations.

Spector plays like the slowest fast linebacker ever. He really struggles with diagnosing plays and always seems flat footed. No instincts

This seems to be a problem for several members of our defense. The speed, size and talent are all there in almost all the defensive positions but game intelligence is lacking in many key situations. On so many passing plays our DBs and linebackers are playing way too far off and dont react fast enough to the play. Poyer, Milano and Hyde were some of the best Ive ever seen 4 years ago  but their replacements dont have the same ball hawking abilities. The Last Lion Td where Benford gets beaten. He is never looking at the ball and is clueless about where is man is going. I swear if our Dbs just turned around on plays this season we would have at least 10 more INTS.

Not having to run our 4th and 5th safeties against the NFL's leading offense might make a difference.

The backup safeties definitely struggled today. Lewis & Bishop looked lost. We gotta get Rapp back and Milano/ Hyde up to speed by playoff time.

DLIne stepped up a bit this game,  not enough though.  they dont look to be playing all that smart either.  its a problem.

I thought the Dline played admirable in the 1st half, especially Oliver.  The 2nd half was very disappointing.

Ouch! thank god for JA17 and the offense on this brilliant win today, but what do we make of this?  I really don’t think this pass defense the last two weeks can lead them to an AFC title let alone Super Bowl.  How does it get fixed?

You do know the Lions have one of the top defenses in football (3rd I think before this week) and we just hung 48 points of offense on them?

So many of Detroits yards were prevent defense.

Why are they playing prevent defense in the second quarter?

QB accounts for 10 TDs in 2 weeks you should at minimum win 1 game.

You score 42 and 48 points in consecutive weeks … one game you lose and the other you sweat it down to an onside kick  in the last 30 seconds … That’s pretty unusual right ?

if this isn’t a concern to people because they win 1 of the two games due to them having one of the best players we have ever  seen playing out of his skin to get them over the line ..,, I’m doubting this as a long term strategy…

Disagree with that assessment.
Bishop played well.
Lewis was mostly in position but he’s a terrible tackler.

Bishop played one step behind, but generally in position. In other words, like Hamlin. Which is a big leap forward from the Houston game. Hope his mental game gets faster with experience.

We played a desperate team at home that has a lot of offensive firepower in the Rams. Was disappointed for sure last week because we were healthy but Stafford was on his game and they played their asses off and still had to hold off Allen.

Big difference from last week to this week is this week we came in knowing what kind of game we were about to play. We knew it was going to be a shootout and gameplanned accordingly. Last week I think LA really took us by surprise and had us playing on our heels right from the start. Nobody expected them to be able to put up 40+ points. Once we figured out what kind of game it was we adjusted and got back into it but it was too late. This week we got our shots in early and forced Detroit to play catch up.

The difference is that this week they played from the front  all game … Lions had to get away from the run and chase them ..plus the brain dead call on the first onside kick … imagine MCD calling that one 😂

Can you add?

Yes? Rams scored 37 points on Offense because of a blocked punt and the the Lions scored 42.... therefore 79 points were given up by the Defense
