GaryPinC Posted Monday at 11:27 AM Posted Monday at 11:27 AM At this point, the defense is what it is. Our MVP and offense will have to carry us through the superbowl, while the D hopefully does enough to keep us in it. Cole and Elam got good experience today, hopefully Milano is back quickly and can get back up to speed to help. The key is the D-line needs to play their butts off every playoff game and coaches need to stay creative with stunts and looks like they did today (at least first half). The biggest problem beyond the lack of talent is Babich/McDermott need to stay creative with it. 1 Quote
njbuff Posted Monday at 11:32 AM Posted Monday at 11:32 AM I’d worry if the Pats hung 28 on them. Otherwise, the Bills just played two top notch offense on their turfs and got away with at least one W. 1 Quote

I really don’t think this pass defense the last two weeks can lead them to an AFC title let alone Super Bowl. How does it get fixed? What do I make of it? My conclusion is that because of Josh Allen, the Bills are good enough to beat any team, any place (to include a great team on the road, in a dome). The term "generational" gets tossed around WAY too much imo. That said, when one watches Josh Allen, one is viewing a "generational" talent. Personally, I think that Josh is a more talented, better QB than John Elway, and NO sports fans in the United States are more deserving of having this great player on our team than long suffering, loyal Bills Fans. 1 2 Quote

The Rams have 2 of the best zone beaters in the NFL in Puka and Kupp. Their just a nightmare matchup. And the Lions are an offensive juggernaut. Patriots are a perfect "get right" opponent this week, with a slight challenge of the Jets the following week. Rodgers to Adams looks to be on track and Wilson is still Wilson. So that will present some challenges before taking on the Pats again to tune up for the playoffs. I could easily see point totals being around 16-25 for the next three weeks each. Quote
Steptide Posted Monday at 11:53 AM Posted Monday at 11:53 AM I thought the defense really struggled to cover the middle of the field yesterday. It was way too easy for the lions to score at times. Also, what is with the bills defense and ALWAYS giving up 3rd and impossible? Wasn't it 3rd and 17 that st brown got the td on? I mean, every single week it seems Quote

Yep, #17 is the greatest franchise QB in our history and will no doubt finish as at least one of the greatest in NFL history. We've proven we can beat the best teams in the NFL but it won't be because of our defense. Just have to trust and pray our guy will see us through. And enjoy the ride. zow2 Posted Monday at 01:01 PM Author Posted Monday at 01:01 PM Goff is the first QB to throw for 400+ yards and 5 TD's, no int's and lose. A few weeks ago, he's also the only QB to throw 5 interceptions and win. How crazy is that. Quote
Sweats Posted Monday at 01:05 PM Posted Monday at 01:05 PM This "bend, but don't break" D is more like "bend over and take it". If we have to win a shootout every week to win games to compensate for our piss poor D, it's going to cost us dearly in the playoffs, where it's "one and done" and a better luck next year attitude. I highly suspect we'll be drafting D real heavy next season. 1 1 Quote

We just beat the previously 11-1 Lions who were crushing the entire league with a dominating offense. We did it missing 3 key defensive starters, including both starting safeties. How about we enjoy this for a moment. We stuffed them on their first two drives, something they were not accustomed to. They like to get ahead easy then put the pressure on, but that’s what WE did. That is what I’ll take out of this. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll go looking for the fire everyone morons. . Edited Monday at 01:15 PM by Augie 1 1 Quote

Brianmoorman4jesus Posted Monday at 01:30 PM Posted Monday at 01:30 PM It’s all fun and games now but this team won’t win the Super Bowl until the defense is better. It’s why we haven’t won one yet. It’s why we have lost in the playoffs every year after 2017. You just never get stops. The offense being on every single week is not sustainable. God forbid this team has an off day we are in trouble. Be very happy with the win but this defense needs to be fixed right now. Maybe McDermott needs to start calling plays idk. But this ***** isn’t good enough and until we are more stable on defense, we can’t win it all Quote
ddaryl Posted Monday at 01:38 PM Posted Monday at 01:38 PM I feel going against good playoff teams puts us at a disadvantage. If Josh has a bad day at the office its pretty much guarenteed our D wil not be able ot save the day. We have Allen but my confidence to go to the SB and win it is 50/50 because of the D, Bass inconsistencies. Yes we can, but will we? Quote

That long TD pass to Amon was almost a fluke. Bernard got a hand on it but it still went directly to him. Also the Bills were using players like Baylon Spector and Cole Bishop and Detroit picked on both repeatedly. They have a LOT to work on on defense. But enjoy this win Here’s what I’m talking about. Detroit got an incredibly good bounce on this pass. Bernard is in the perfect spot and gets TWO hands on this ball. But it almost goes right to St Brown without him needing to make an adjustment. The missed tackle by Cam who was behind in coverage didn’t help. But my point again is that this play what somewhat flukes and that the defense was mostly in the right spot. Italian Bills Posted Monday at 02:03 PM Posted Monday at 02:03 PM I mean: antoher very good win to haunt the nr1 seed, but again another poor D performance. Again 42 points allowed ? Oh well.... i really can't see how we cen reach the goal when we always play this atrocious zone D where good QBs always destroy us. Always in drop coverage... i'm sick of that. Goff almost 500 yards ??? Com'on.... 1 1 2 1 1 4 Quote

But this ***** isn’t good enough and until we are more stable on defense, we can’t win it That’s what happens in the playoffs - especially against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Philadelphia had the top defense in 2022 and gave up 38 points including a short game winning FG on the final drive in the SB San Francisco had the best defense last season according the PFF and couldn’t stop KC much in the 4th. Also gave up the game winning score. We debunked this narrative to death but the playoff losses to CIN (2023) and KC (2024) wasn’t entirely on the defense. Offense failed to do its part. You need to stop play good complimentary football and to get lucky to win a Super Bowl 1 Quote

Dillenger4 Posted Monday at 02:07 PM Posted Monday at 02:07 PM I'm starting to think it's the way it is in the NFL especially with our team. The Rams have a good offense and so do the Lions. They are gonna score their points. Maybe we just have to accept it and hope our O can out duel the other side like yesterday. 2 Quote

A lot of it was garbage time It was 35-14 ( should've been 38-14) It was 38-21 ( should've been 41-21) Then it was 45-35. It shouldn't of come down to an onside kick but a lot of guys were out and some of it was a little luck. That st Brown long TD isn't happening again. Bernard was within an inch of an int These rams and Lions might be the two best offenses in football ( obviously buffalo is number one) We're fine Edited Monday at 02:09 PM by Kelly to Allen 1 1 Quote
