The problem is that prevent started in the 1st quarter.

Bills were up 3 scores and the Lions only had 24 points.  After that, Buffalo let up on pressure and gave huge cushions allowing to drive down but kill the clock at same time.  I hate that, but I'm not worried about the points the D let up. Had we been trailing and Detroit had already been scoring lots  then I would have held it against the D.

Baylon Spector should not be anywhere close to a football field. I get he's the backup's backup, but that guy is an affront to defensive football.

They were picking on Spector and Cole.  At some point, they should consider Eddie or Buffalo Joe.  Spector struggles when he’s in

people need to spend a little more time understanding the game a lot less time complaining.

the defense today put the ball on the tee for the offense.  The defense in the first half was extremely physical and flying around.

it wan't until milano and bishop went out and they were up 17 did it change.  at that point the bills were not running their same defense.

This 40 points was completely different than last week's.

This win was enormous.  They stole one on the road against an opponent that had all the traits of the types of teams this bills team struggles with and they beat them up.

It was better once they figured it out and put Williams in.

Williams left the game with an injury.  He came back in the 4th.  And yes, it was better when Williams returned to the defense.

Bills were up 3 scores, but let them back within 1 score a couple times. Because we get too soft, too early. Only a matter of time until Josh cant bail out McD's coaching not to lose and making scared decisions.

It got ugly at the end with all the injuries and classic McD prevent after we went up 21, but lots to like before that vs. top offense in the L. Rams game was the low point but it feels like Bills D is trending up!

Edit: if anything, we should be talking about Elam and Bishop. I thought both played reasonably well today, especially Elam.

We had Hamlin and Rapp against the rams last week and couldn't stop a nose bleed.

That was a weird letdown game when nothing goes right for you; you get them every couple months.

I don't expect this defense to stone people but if it's coached well (which it was today) it can create enough problems for opponents that they have little hope of keeping up with Brady/Allen.

They ain't winning no Super Bowl giving up 40 plus points every week. They gotta figure something out quick and seriously look to replace Babich in the off-season.... awesome win thank God we have JA cause it we didn't we would be in the hunt for a WC or in a fight for the division I will say Oliver looked like he had his best game of the year

We played a desperate team at home that has a lot of offensive firepower in the Rams. Was disappointed for sure last week because we were healthy but Stafford was on his game and they played their asses off and still had to hold off Allen. This week we literally didn't have 7 guys who were starting of big time contributors against the # 1 offense in the NFL entering the week.  People have to remember that the NFL has been trending towards college football style for a long time and thus when you have a great QB scores are going to be higher.

Both teams, the Bills and the Lions, were trotting out guys who were on their PS or who have been 2nd or 3rd deep on the depth chart in today's game.

If we get gashed next week against Maye and the Patriots next week then I think we have a serious problem on our hands

I do agree about the letdown part of it. Clinching the division the week  before and then the big game against Detroit the following week.

But 40 plus points two weeks in a row is still concerning IMO

We beat the NFC number one seed on the road. It was closer than it should have been but we really should feel good about this.

Oh I do!!! It's awesome but Josh isn't Clark Kent ripping his suit off every game we ain't winning. Thank God he is but we gotta figure out something on Defense it is atrocious

Spector plays like the slowest fast linebacker ever. He really struggles with diagnosing plays and always seems flat footed. No instincts

But he just turned 19!

Oh wait, sorry, force of habit after I read an analysis like that.

Perhaps not. But we've beaten the Lions and the Chiefs now. So which passing team are you scared of playing?

I also thought that through the first 3 quarters or so we were in position to end drives early or TFL but there were a number missed tackles/opportunities.

Where as the Rams we seemed to have just gotten smoked.

Cam Lewis was abused today. I know. Special Teams and all. But also….no.

Totally agree this was an epic statement win Josh was mvp class again do not agree the 40 points was different especially in the late 3 and 4q they didn't even force them to take time off the clock. Missed tackles didn't get home with 4 it was almost inevitable that they were gonna score. I am not comfortable that this defensive play is gonna fly in the playoffs. It needs to improve if we are gonna win it all. I hope it can

It looks very bad on paper but I think the score today was a bit misleading. That long TD pass to Amon was almost a fluke.  Bernard got a hand on it but it still went directly to him.

Also the Bills were using players like Baylon Spector and Cole Bishop and Detroit picked on both repeatedly.

They have a LOT to work on on defense.  But enjoy this win

He is a high draft pick. Elam and Bishop shouldn't be that much of a drop off.
