12/15/24 Week 15 Bills @ Lions Game Post Game Thread

This is probably an unlikely take.

 

I was glad they didn't throw the hail mary at the end of the half.  It was likely to be intercepted and I didn't want that to mar Josh's MVP season.

As for the fingers and whatnot in the scrum, welcome to football. I am sure our players do it too, along with 30 other teams.

Accusations of the Bills doing it need proof. Lions have played dirty all year and we saw it last night. Branch punching our players. Campbell cheap shotting Allen's head well after he had slid and given himself up. The fingers in the scrum flow from the same attitude. A trashy cheap shot thug style of football pushed by Campbell. I've watched a lot of Bills and Commanders games this year and don't hear reports of dirty ***** in piles with their fingers, deliberately punching players, cheap shotting heads and pushing a culture that encourages such style of play 

 

I played football for years. No body was doing that dirty ***** (finger games in the piles, punching, etc) on the teams I played for. If anything like that happened, my coach would have benched us and chewed us out. Same with friends of mine who played for other school teams and town teams.

Not sure where this pearl clutching is coming from. This has been the norm for every pile and scrum in the history of the game, at every level. It's a known thing that most players even joke about. Happened at every level I played, and even in Rugby scrums. I'd come out of Rugby scrums with bite marks on my arms. No big deal.

Ed Oliver really showed up to play. It's about time and I hope he can carry a level of consistency into the post season. We need our D-line to not sht the bed like previous playoff losses. 

 

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I don't care if Baylon Specter ever sees the field again. That guy sucks and doesn't know where to be on the field. I think they put a hurt Dorian Williams back in the field because Spector was so bad.

Great coaching to realize the Lions were on their 5th and 6th LBs and had those guys in man coverage against our pass-catching RBs. Just an absolute coaching clinic on Offense yesterday.

In those piles, they also grab the ball carrier's own to get hit let go of the football.

Yeah- Brady has been taking advantage of weak links a lot this season. It’s been obvious and I love it!

Ty Johnson is on the short list of most underrated players in the NFL.

 

All the guy does is make plays.

I find it hard to believe that Andreesen is worse than Spector.  Spector doesn't belong in the league.

It was such a marked improvement once Williams was able to go back in.

It hasn't been the norm as per the experiences I had and others I know. Lions are just a dirty team.

Spector was ok in the beginning of the year, but man he almost single handily gave up that one TD drive. Out of position and slow/late to the tackle.  I’m not sure Andreesen could have done worse on that drive.

 

Cole Bishop also looks like a liability right now. I guess Hamlin had been playing well enough.

 

Draft will likely be defense driven with LB and safety high on the list for depth.

i don't know about that because i missed the first 3 quarters but i'll be damned if i want to hear Romo talk about us not playing man late in the game because of injuries and risking another injury. every minute he was saying it.

Spector was horrendous yesterday.  He almost single-handedly let the Lions back into the game.  They just went after his area with abandon.
