Correct. Without Josh, no way is McDermott a HC right now.

He's still a really, really good coach in a lot of aspects. Let's not forget he broke the drought in his first year with a pretty poor roster. He's seemingly never had a bad secondary his entire career here. Always getting the maximum out of the players in the secondary.

That said, he very well could be coaching for his job this postseason for other obvious reasons. But I would be surprised if he didn't land another head coaching job right away.

The D got a lot more pressure this game than in the Rams game... You have to give Goff some credit for getting out a couple times, and standing in there too...

I think McD and Bobby have some late nights ahead of them. No matter what they have to get better on these big swing downs in the 2nd half... Looks like the Lions were 6 of 9 on 3rd and 4th downs in the 2nd half... The Rams killed the Bills on 3rd down as well... That's not going to cut it long term IMHO...

I don’t disagree with any of this, but I am giving them a little grace at the end of game considering they were down:

Rapp

Hamlin

Bishop

Milano

Douglas

It is no doubt they were handicapped by personnel to some degree.

edit; did Benford come out the last series after colliding with Johnson on the sideline?

no way… unless another incomprehensible collapse a la “13 Seconds” happens again.  Even then, probably not.

He absolutely is. He'd be great, for example, going back to Carolina and getting that franchise back to a legitimate team.

However, we're at a much different level now. I've posted this before, but the most accurate thing I've read about McD is "He's the type of coach who can take a 4-13 team to the Wild Card round. And the type of coach who will take a 13-4 team to the Wild Card round."

But let's face it. Without hitting on the miracle that is Josh Allen, his fate would be much like all those that came before him (Gailey, Marrone, Mularky, etc). No coach can win without a franchise QB no matter how good you are.

From a coaching perspective, only issue I have with decision making today was not executing a sneak on 3rd and 1 right before halftime. That was an idiotic decision to go away from something that works.

that being said, it ended up not hurting us too much.

That was infuriating. It's basically automatic. If you don't get it on 3rd, do it again on 4th.

But ya besides that play call, I thought Joe Brady called a superb game

The Bills messed up that 3rd and goal at the one... Bass misses the chip shot... Then they don't throw a Hail Mary at the end of the half, or try the long FG... They also give up a 3rd and 17 for an infuriating 66 yard TD...And they win by 6...almost scoring 50...

Josh Allen = MVP

I don't know if anyone else posted this, but.....

Josh Allen needs 1 more rushing touchdown to tie Thurman Thomas as the all-time Bills Franchise leader in rushing touchdowns.

This is insane. I know it’s a different era, but they don’t even play the same position and he isn’t even 30

They aren’t getting out of the NFC

That's the pain the Bills felt the last two years but especially in 2022. An absolute juggernaut that started losing parts and was a shadow of themselves come playoff time

He'll finish his career with over 100 rushing TD's most likely which is absurd.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED, even in a loss

win chefs

win snow

loss 42 (EVEN A LOSS !!)

win 48

This has been the funnest Bills season since 2021.

Maybe it was the lower expectations, but I think it's more than that. The team is having fun and it shows. And they are actually executing well.

The last couple of years, and especially last year, even the wins felt like losses and no one was having any fun.

I think it being so obvious from early on that we were going to have the Division locked up helps too.

The Bills O-line has become the most underrated part of the team in '24 (mostly among our fans). Not only the starters but they have good depth players there too. They're playing consistently well in both phases considering this is the NFL and there will always be SOME struggle. I watch the league (not just the Bills) more than a healthy amount, and they look like a top 2 or 3 line, and different than the ones from past years that was more a "made to look better than they are" line by QB1MVP (who is every bit of the best player in football). Lots of clean pockets, good push at the point of attack and able to open and sustain holes for the run-game in all but a couple outings. It's not cool to talk about the O-line any more, but they sure do matter every bit as much as they ever have. They allow the Bills to take a physical approach when needed, and they are talented enough to play well in a spread/ shootout situation just the same. These guys are crushing it out there.

I actually feel bad for the Lions. That team is done. I thought our injuries were bad, but there’s no way they can get to the SB with all their losses on defense.

They had their version of the 13 seconds game last year. They would’ve easily beaten KC had they not blown a lead against the 49ers
