IT'S A NEW TURF, PEOPLE!

It's been resurfaced in Detroit - prior to 2023 season. Not the same that injured so many players.

 

I keep seeing people worried about the turf monster.... So making a dedicated thread to Detroit turf.

 

And for what it is worth, they do have drapes... They don't match the carpet.

New turf but several of their players play dirty. Will be good to escape without injury.

Kirby, their safety, hits very low and very dirty taking players knees out. Hope he gets his.

Omg thank you!! I been b wording to everyone around me about that being the second highest knee killing surface in league. I would've absolutely hated being a fan for them with 8 home games. Theirs and Jersey's surfaces have astronomically higher knee injuries than every other stadium.  % it was almost double the rate

Owners cheap enough to believe this. How are you ok putting up a quarter billion a year salary and cheating out on a turf.

 

That be like having a Ferrari and a gravel driveway. How much can it possibly cost?  $5M??? How many hundreds of millions you think that thing has cost the league as a whole?

Their original plan was to swap it out before the 2024 season. But since they missed the playoffs in 2022, they decided to move it up a year early, and do it before the 2023 season.
