McD will do his usual good job of covering up for mediocre DB play and people will be bitching about all the yards we're about to give up.

McDermotts comment last week of "we need to run the ball more" after scoring 42 points is a bit concerning for me lol.

I hope it's not one of those games they stubbornly try to run a lot, especially when you have the best player in the planet playing in a dome

Actually this quote represents a lot of what's wrong with McD.  The purpose of having an elite, generational talent at QB isn't to protect your defense.

We can't use injuries as an excuse though. Detroit has way bigger injuries than we have

Had. They returned like eight players from injury this week.

Kareem Jackson is a headhunter and he's been stuck on the couch for months. If I was a Detroit fan I'd be a bit scared about injury.

and he's only 36 years old...or 75 in football years

Detroit has had way more injuries on the defensive side of the ball and they are 2nd scoring defence.

We are down 3 starters in the secondary, but with the exception of Rapp , Hamlin and Douglas are very replaceable this year.

Detroit has way more injuries like I said, no excuses

I know they've replaced it recently but I still have concerns about the Detroit turf.

The turf of Detroit isn't quite as rough as it was in the 2000's. Stay above 6 mile and you're not bad.

I believe Davenport, Anzalone, Hutch, Rodriguez are still out. Plus more.

Yeesh that's a lot of defensive backfield to lose. Rapp hurts the most

Would love to see Elam start and play well. Douglas hasn't been as good as he was last year. If Elam plays well Douglas might not start again...

Wish he had some safety help

McDermott is once again going to get exposed today when his defense (with guys he helped select) goes up against a top offense. Lions running backs and offensive line are legitimately going to be a huge issue. Our first round picks McDermott helped choose and praise a bit too much (Oliver , Rousseau) have been pretty invisible. Miller has been a non factor.

Allen once again needs to go off for us to have a chance. Issue is Lions have a "hunt knee caps" mentality and have been playing very dirty. I don't want Allen running in this

Is the defense gonna show? Or we gonna give up movement all day between the 20’s and hope for a big stop every possession? If so, we’re in for a long one.

Rapp and Hamlin aren't really that good. Honestly Bishop and Ingram or whoever they put back there should do about as well.

Wouldn't it be nice if we still had Edwards on the team?
