Having Smoot back could be huge. I heard someone say that he was responsible for making all of the defensive line calls. Let's hope that translates into improved line play this week.

I’m almost wondering if Jackson’s elevation is for the bonus or whether Rapp/Hamlin sits.

My guess was Clapp but he just got cut for Spector/Smoot.  The next cut would be Jefferson or Phillips.  They may just decide to keep him down for the rest of the year though.   They liked him as their third tackle before he got injured.   He was active over VanDemark, I would think they want all their tackle options open just in case but then again maybe he is slow getting back into it.

I mean Rapp and Hamplin DNP on thursday and were limited Friday.  It is very easy to see at least one of them will be inactive.

Yeah, 12 for the 4 man Defensive Line vs. 8 for the 5 man Offensive Line is kind of wild. I get that the D-Line is rotated. But 12 seems a little high for the D-Line and 8 seems a little low for the O-Line.

 

The roster breakdown of D vs. O is a little wild in general too. 28 rostered on Defense v. 22 rostered on Offense (remaining 3 for K, P, and LS).

If I'm McDermott, I'm getting those backup safety and corner backs as many game reps as possible. We need the depth in the playoffs.

They cut Clapp and are currently down 1 OL.  I’d expect Jefferson/Phillips to be cut next week to make room for Grable.
