We should run one of those defenses that shuts down elite offenses every time. I don’t know why everyone doesn’t just run that kind of defense - they must be much dumber than me.

Agreed, Josh Allen is going to be in Buffalo forever. Let’s just keep running the same zone , prevent, bend don’t break, no true 1T DT defense and expect different results against top QB’s and offenses. I think there is a new word for this Joshsanity.

Literally everything went the Bills’ way…got every big call from the refs, plus Hardman’s fumble through the end zone, which would have put the game out of reach…and still lost.

I don’t think getting forced into starting AJ Klein because your linebacker room is decimated is everything going your way 🤣

no chance the bills lose that game if they had one more linebacker available…Klein got absolutely abused all night

on the flip side if the bills were healthy and the chiefs were missing most of their linebackers it would’ve been a blowout

Please change up the defensive philosophy this off season . Defense feasts on average and below QB’s and offensive lines. This coupled with Josh gets you double digit win totals each year. In the playoffs you very rarely see below average. Good qb’s,with time, pick apart our defense. Also sick of mobile DT’s. Jeff Wright, Kyle Williams and most of our current ones come to mind. Please either draft or pickup a mountain for the middle to at least stop the run.

How does a team design a defense to only beat bad offences?

Zone coverage, no 1T on the roster, bend don’t break philosophy, Epenesa on the field on obvious running plays.

No, I'm asking who says "I'm going to design a defense that only stops bad teams."

Also, if a team is the #1 offense in the NFL, who is supposed to beat them every time?

Nobody intentionally devices a defense that can only stop weaker qbs / offenses.  But unfortunately the way Sean's scheme is designed, that's the end result.  Without a strong pass rush, stronger veteran qbs can exploit this style.  You can't ignore 79 points over the last 2 teams. Playoff caliber teams with savy veteran qbs.

The defense was abysmal against the Rams. I think the defense while not good against the Lions was actually not that bad against the Lions. The Bills gave up 42 points but 7 of those points came on a TD when there was 12 seconds left. The Bills also started both halves with back to back stops including a turnover on the second possession of the second half. The Bills were also constantly nursing 2-3 possession leads late in the game and the defense was down 3 starters in the secondary. They gave up a lot of points late in the game and it made the game closer than it needed to be but it was able to make enough stops early in the game to give the Bills a 3 possession lead.

I still think the Bills have a top 10 defense in the league (on the lower end of the top 10 to be fair) when reasonably healthy.
