The NCAA and networks feature Army Navy game each year and this will be the 125th time this game is played. For many of us, this is a key sporting event of the year, never mind the weekend. Sorry to inconvenience you. I’m retired and live in an army community, but throughout my 30 years I never really got excited about the army - navy game, understand the draw of tradition. 1 Quote
Marlton Bills Posted December 14 Posted December 14 I didn’t read all of this but I always found MLB all-star Game to be the worst sports day of the year. And the day before and after…void!!! 1 Quote

I’m not adding any more streaming services just because I’m told I need them to see a game. Therefore, this game is indeed unwatchable, and I’m kinda pissed. Third game in a row on ESPN+ that I am missing. When Big East Conference games start almost everything is on FS1. I’m for player freedom and reasonable compensation, but between NIL, the portal and the annual upheaval to the roster, I just care less than I can ever remember. Was a good game 1 Quote

Was a good game With an unfortunate outcome. I can assure you, having a tab up on my iPad so I can check the score is FAR less riveting than actually watching, but I’ve drawn a line, finally. Xavier lost a Big who would have started to an ACL right before the season, and that’s where we were shallow to begin with. . Edited December 14 by Augie 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted December 15 Posted December 15 I decided not to watch the Cricket Celebration Bowl. I suppose it is so named because the sponsor is Cricket Wireless, but I couldn't help wonder who would want to celebrate crickets. Quote
thenorthremembers Posted December 15 Posted December 15 Depends if you like the NBA or not. I love it and the Houston vs OKC game is filled with good young players. Quote

Its amazing they are not playing today because of the army navy FCS level game. Army was 11 and 1.. and was smoking FBS teams in conference USA Navy was 8-3 and was also spanking FBS teams It's literally an insult and a lie to call them FCS level Quote

Goin Breakdown Posted December 15 Posted December 15 Same as every weekend. Get in some sort of stupid argument with "the love of my life" followed by me punching myself in the face once I'm alone. You know the typical stuff. 2 Quote

Other opportunities missed for sure. I’m an X graduate, are you? Edited December 15 by The Cincinnati Kid Quote

So takes the sting out of it. I for one love the horse racing at Saratoga as well, but I know that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Quote
chongli Posted December 15 Posted December 15 The Army-Navy game was awesome this year. Plus, did anyone mention the Heisman presentation last night? That was worthy too. Ashton Jeanty and Travis Hunter both gad good cases. Quote

Good trivia question for you to impress your friends with: What are the only two days of the year, every year, where there is no major league (MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL) sporting events or games? Would they just have to forego the pseudo bye week for their opponent? Id imagine Army would be ok with that to play this game, in this slot. I had the same thought watching the game yesterday. You’d also have an issue if one of these teams were undefeated playoff bound, then lose in this game. Wouldn’t this create likely controversy about the playoff bid? I’m confused if this is basically an exhibition in the mind of the playoff committee? Quote

I don't notice it. 1 Quote
