Dan Darragh Posted December 12 Posted December 12 (edited) I have to admit that I still can't get two Bills players straight in my mind: #43 Terrel Bernard #47 Christian Benford For one thing I still haven't gotten used to the new numbering scheme. In my rusty worldview, 43 is not a linebacker number (although those as old as me will remember #32 Mike Curtis, an all-pro linebacker for the Baltimore Colts). And the names are too similar for my addled brain to sort out. I think (again, for the older crowd) that I'm still confused because of the famous surgeon who performed the first heart transplant, Christian Barnard, and I have that name stuck in my head. But that was back in 1967 so by now... well never mind. I forgot what I was going to say. Anyway, Go Bills! And Go Heart Transplants! Edited December 12 by Dan Darragh 8 9 33 3 4 Quote

That is a LB dog, for sure. Of course, now maybe you'll get saint and Christian mixed up. 😀 I'm with you OP. Although better than the alternative, its terrible getting old. Youth is wasted on the young. 2 Quote
zow2 Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I don't get them mixed up but Benford has been an enigma for me. I hardly knew anything about the guy or even what he looked like? He was just a player that lined up out there. So I watched the fluff video that the Bills put out recently with Maddy interviewing on Benford and Rasul. Apparently they are best buds. So now I at least know who the man is and what he sounds like. Bernard on the other hand,,, I've seen his story off the field. Pretty cool. Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Same. And then #42 Dorian Williams gets in the mix as another small LB, and I cant tell any of the 3 of them apart. 2 Quote
Back2Buff Posted December 12 Posted December 12 CB is the CB. Dont even bother with the name. CB and TB. 1 1 1 Quote

My son would mention one of them and I'd have to ask if he was talking about the WR or the DB. 1 1 Quote

They both start with "Be" and end with "rd". Both have a number starting with '4'. Both have similar letters in their last name, aside from an extra 'r' and 'a' in Bernard's name and an 'f' and 'o' in Benford's name. I guess my mind takes shortcuts to remember names (I am not typically good with remembering them) and there's just too many similarities between these two. Quote
Dan Darragh Posted December 12 Author Posted December 12 Here's another issue: at one point we had EJ (Manuel), TJ (Graham) and CJ (Spiller) on the team all at the same time. It gave me vertigo. And what's up with all the Williamses? One year we had 5 of them! Should have just renamed the team the Buffalo Williams! 3 Quote
D. L. Hot-Flamethrower Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I get Ray Davis(22) and Ty Johnson(26) screwed up regularly Quote
