Anybody from that area feels it’s more up and coming after the money dumped into it the last few years. Then to think Detroit would lose the Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, or Pistons is just humorous to be honest. Edited December 12 by Mikie2times 2 Quote
Richard Noggin Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Been to a bunch of Lions games over the years, plus all the Bills games that have been played in or moved to Detroit in the last 10 seasons. We have close family outside Detroit, where we go for Thanksgiving each year. Saw the Bills against Barry Sanders in the Silverdome. Definitely my #2/NFC team. And my current favorite offensive coordinator in Ben Johnson. 1 1 1 Quote

And my current favorite offensive coordinator in Ben Johnson. I’m from Livonia originally and also did the same with all Bills/Lions games basically going back to 1994. Can’t make this one. Which is a total bummer. I’m happy for my friends who stayed with them or showed some degree of interest in them the last 20+ years. But as I said upthread, I have noticed a whole contingent of people who really couldn’t give a flying F” about them just all over them at this point. Which may or may not be true with Buffalo as well. It’s hard for me to see not being from the area. But my perception is we were always here. Even in the drought era. So it has a fair weather vibe for me. Also, I like the people in that area a lot and still visit a lot, but it would suck if they beat us to it. It’s a little too close to home for me if they do and I would most certainly be subject to some serious crap talking. We will see. Conflicted on them but I’m not really a two team guy anyway. 1 Quote

But stuff like hosting the draft is just short term profit for the people and more profit for the wealthy. The Tigers,Lions, Pistons are still like bottom 5 or 6 in their leagues in profits. They benefit from the profit sharing contracts in each league. But that again is money for the wealthy, not the people. Interestingly enough, the Red-wings are 15th in NHL. Doing much better. But if the city is starting to recover. Nothing wrong with that! 1 Quote

Now you’re backpedaling trying to worm your way out of it. There’s something wrong with that! 1 Quote
Doc Brown Posted December 12 Posted December 12 They're a likable team. I'd try to run through a brick wall for Campbell but would be knocked out unconscious. Goff was basically kicked out of town by the Rams and left for dead. They built their team the right way and know who they are. Their fans deserve to at least go to a Super Bowl and lose to us. Quote

I didn't back pedal. I simply elaborated. I stated facts. The Detroit franchises except for the Red-wings are lower end. In their leagues. Thank you. Have a nice day. Detroit won't win Sunday Quote
Matt_In_NH Posted December 12 Posted December 12 My second favorite team has always been is playing the stankfish. 1 Quote

They were hospitable to the Bills in 2014 and 2022 with letting the team use their stadium after the snowstorms. That and I still recall after the game in 2018 a good number of Bills fans here posted positive stuff about Lions fans in the stadium. Let's just forget about the 2014 laser pointer incident when some a-hole Lions fan tried to blind Carp. ***** the Lions and their fans. 1 Quote
Drey Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I have no affinity whatsoever for Detroit. My wife is a Vikings fan, so I'll cheer for them when it doesn't impact the Bills. Quote
machine gun kelly Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Well, I was born and raised in Hamburg, so I bleed red, white, amd royal blue. With that said, I’ve lived in Tampa for over 30 years so in order for my kids to respect me, I root for the Bucs. The Bucs will never get to the SB anytime soon so it would be nice to see the Lions to finally make a SB. Now, I’d never want the Lions to beat us, but I still hold out hope we can make it ti the dance, and win it all. I’ll never root for another team to win it all. Quote
Gregg Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I don't have a second favorite team, but I did like 49ers from back in the day with Montana, Clark, Lott. If I were to pick one, it would be them. Quote

MJS Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Yeah, I like them alright. But I think I like the Broncos more, since I lived in Colorado for a long time. Quote
