Sweats Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I'm pretty sure you guys were expecting me to throw in some German swear words in here and see if anyone caught it. But seriously, German games do not interest me, same as London games, Mexico games, etc. Quote
benderbender Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 The NFL missed the mark in Germany already. Why there isn't a yearly Frankfurt game sponsored by Oscar Mayer or a Hamburg game sponsored by any burger chain is a crime. Quote

CheshireCT Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I can’t get behind these international games simply because of the competitive implications. Playing such a high contact intense sport jet-lagged is bad for the players. I still believe a lot of our injuries during that Jags game were linked to jet lag. Losing a home game is bad for a club. Maybe a game in South America isn’t as bad since the players stay in the same time zone. Quote
Mike in Horseheads Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 So if I pay the NFL a few billion dollars I can bring a game to Horseheads? The HS has a new 8k seat stadium and were right in between Buffalo and NJ! 2 Quote
Just Jack Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Does anyone remember the Bills playing a pre-season game in Germany during the Kelly/Reich years, or is it just me? I can't find proof via Google. And... 1 Quote

Yes: https://discover.sportsengineplay.com/article/football/nfls-american-bowl-germany "On this day, in 1993 the NFL's American Bowl was played at Olympiastadion in Berlin, the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Buffalo Bills August 7, 1993" "The Minnesota Vikings defeated the Buffalo Bills 20-6 in the American Bowl exhibition game at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on Aug. 7, 1993. The more than 67,000 fans who attended the game were also treated to pop concerts, parachutists and fireworks at the event. It was the largest crowd to see a game in Berlin since the NFL began playing there in 1989. In his just second game as a Viking, Jim McMahon completed 7 of 9 passes, while teammate Charles Evans rushed for a game-high 78 yards en route to being named the game’s MVP. The Vikings built a 17-0 halftime lead over the defending AFC champion Bills by taking advantage of good field position and two turnovers" [That is why I put "regular season" in the title!] Edited December 12, 2024 by chongli 2 Quote

TurfToeJam Posted January 15 Posted January 15 Rename to InterNational Football League coming? Absolutely hate the overseas games. Talk about greed. How much more money does the (I)nfl need? Quote
