And that's coming from somebody who football has been his life and passion for 35 plus years Physically from a science standpoint he's correct This game is 100 car crashes a game 1 Quote
Returntoglory Posted December 11 Posted December 11 This is a potentially devastating and career ending injury. When I was in the USAF stationed in Germany in the 80's, I was playing Ice Hockey and we were in a tournament in Sweden. I was ran from behind into the boards. Long story short, I was diagnosed with a torn ACL, LCL & MCL. For the next two years I was in a metal polio type leg brace while recovering. Killed my pro baseball aspirations. Bottom line he has a horrible injury and hopefully he can recover to an extent where he can play again. Technology and surgical techniques have changed over the years, so who knows. Here's wishing him the best! 1 1 1 1 Quote
TBBills Fan Posted December 11 Posted December 11 That really sucks. Something like that is going to be hard to come back from Another example of why players try to get as much as they can...and should. It's also why I believe they deserve a bigger piece of the pie than the owners give them... 2 Quote
ProcessTruster Posted December 11 Posted December 11 another reason I do not begrudge the $$ made by NFL players. you see these old, former players today and they can barely walk. such a tough game. 2 Quote

Just a devastating injury... Knew it was serious when they showed him on the turf with his leg sideways and he couldn't even get up... Prayers up for a speedy recovery... The game of football is merciless. Get well soon kid. 1 Quote

It's sad that in the most dangerous sport and the one most likely to lead to bad health outcomes later in life, that the contracts are not fully guaranteed. Juan Soto just signed with the Mets for 15 years and $765 million... fully guaranteed. He could chase a fly ball, crash into the outfield wall and suffer multiple fractures of his leg, never be the same player... and still get paid every penny. 1 Quote
