That illustrates how hard it is to get there, let alone win it. I have pride that it was jim kelly and his squad that kept them out 1 Quote

He might go down as Dan Marino 2.0 with legs. I hope I’m wrong as Allen deserves multiple SB rings. and It will be a complete and utter travesty if he doesn't get at least 1. But as us old timers know, that would be very Billsy and unfortunately par for the course. 1 Quote

The second-best historical QB performance was over six decades ago, in 1961, when Houston Oiler George Blanda would have produced a 49.72-point game. In the league I played in, would have been worth 55 points They only account for standard scoring since there are so many variations it's impossible to account for them all. I had the misfortune of playing Allen in one of my fantasy leagues this week and he also had Jamar Chase. Allen had 63.5 points in that league and Chase had 55.1 so combined they put up almost 119 against me themselves. The man didn't even have 3 people in since he is doing terrible and out of the playoffs, I had an overall good week and put up 178 points and ended up losing by 3. Probably could have had an all-time high scoring game in our league if he actually started the other players. Edited December 10 by Big Turk 1 Quote
Dr.Mantis_Toboggan Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Terry is going to have a decision to make this coming offseason when MiDermott craps the bed in the post season like he always does… bc Josh just got engaged to a famous actress who lives out west, and he grew up a Niners fan. He’s always going to say the right thing, but it would be insane to expect him to just keep running it back with Coach MiDermott. On the flip side, if he forces his way out to SF, a team that just got to the Super Bowl with Brock F’n Purdy, him in that Shannahan offense own the NFC for likely the next 10 years. It’d be great if Sean just gracefully bowed out after this year, if they don’t get it done… obviously I hope I’m wrong, but I haven’t seen anything this season that leads me to believe MiDermott has learned from his mistakes. 1 1 Quote

That's the one thing that sucks. All of these accomplishments will always have an asterisks brought up, and it's not unfair to do so either. Doesn't mean Allen's accomplishments aren't great, they absolutely are, but I wish Mahomes started that first season just so we wouldn't always have to add this extra context. 1 Quote

This scenario (or similar) is a lot closer than many fans want to admit. What happens when Stafford retires? What happens if Herbert washes out? Terrance will have to preemptively choose his path, or it'll happen for him soon. 1 Quote

There will never be an asterisk There's no asterisk next to OJ's rushing record in 14 games In 20 years nobody's going to remember or care that Patrick mahomes got the benefit behind sitting behind a pro bowl quarterback and the Hall of Fame coach and learning from the bench for a season That will never be an asterisk in the annals of football history Edited December 10 by Buffalo716 1 Quote

But… https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDXcVUUILu_/?igsh=MWQ0cWdwMG81NncyMw== He is absolutely correct. There are very few game changers on this team. Who on D would keep OC's up at night? There are no legit # 1 receivers. That's simply unacceptable. Brady had Gronk and Edelman. They had top 10 defenses who helped win SB's. In fact, I'm pretty sure they had a top 10 D every time they won a SB. Chiefs have elite talent on D. Of course, Kelce at TE & had Hill. I'm not even going to get into the difference in coaches. It's been beaten to death. Edited December 11 by Billsfanatic8989 Quote

You can deny it doesn't happen, but that's not reality. Even in this thread it was pointed out. Also, OJ's record isn't even talked about outside of Bills fans, and that's a far more standard type of record ("most ___ in a season" vs "most ____ over first X years"). People care more about most yards in a season or most TDs in a season or most sacks in a season, rather than "most sacks for a player before age 30" or "most TDs in a player's first 7 seasons." People talk about Eric Dickerson's rushing record, while only Bills fans are there to say "but he did it in 14 games vs 16!" In contrast, every time I see NFL or ESPN or any sports personality post about Allen's "most ___ in first X seasons," the replies are FILLED with people saying "Mahomes sat his first year, so it doesn't count!" Not really. It's a message board, opinions will differ. I rolled the eyes because one could argue Mahomes made Kelce. Hill is pure speed, so he'd even look good with JP Losman. Watkins? Didn't the Bills send him to KC? That makes no sense. Kelce's career took off with Mahomes, not that he was a slouch with Alex Smith. It's ok to acknowledge greatness on non-Bills players. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KelcTr00.htm Edited December 11 by DrBob806 1 Quote
