transplantbillsfan Posted December 10 Posted December 10 I understand that he's not likely to see actual playing time this weekend and it won't be until the home game vs. the Pats he's probably elevated. That said, it's looking like Hyde came back to this team at a darn good time. Our Safeties looked awful yesterday. Rapp has been so good for most of the season that he gets some grace, but Hamlin was by far the worse player of the 2 yesterday and has been all year. He's a good tackler, but just lacks the coverage ability and instincts. You saw it on that deep completed pass (think it was called back) where he was torched. I understand Hyde isn't 2021 Micah Hyde, but his instincts and intelligence are something that Hamlin--who is always just a step or 2 hesitant in coverage--just doesn't have. If our D gets torched in the passing game on Sunday I think the passing of that torch from young to old is inevitable. I'd just rather not see another shitshow like that. Dude came back to Buffalo potentially to be the ultimate team guy as a mentor for the young guys. Might be best for the young guys to watch him play for a bit. And honestly... if not Hyde... put Cole Bishop back in there and let the athletic freak learn a little in some live action. 6 2 8 2 1 1 Quote
BananaB Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Less time since he’s been on the field on Gameday than Milano. 😂 1 1 Quote

peterpan Posted December 10 Posted December 10 I don’t think ours safeties were that bad. Considering how bad everyone else was I mean. Without looking, I bet Rapp and Hamlin led the team in tackles. 1 1 Quote

Steptide Posted December 10 Posted December 10 The entire defense (minus maybe benford) was atrocious last night, but I don't think Hyde is gonna come in and make any kind of difference. At least not yet. Let him play the last 2 games maybe, but he hasent played a snap since last season. Quote

Whilst the whole unit played awful, embarrassing if you will. Benford, Hamlin and Von were the better of the fielded players. The whole DLine was a let down. But Milano and Douglas were brutal. Really think they need to reduce Milano. Dorian is a better option right now. 1 4 Quote

Billzgobowlin Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Is it possible that we will see Lewis Cine sooner rather than later? Not sure if they were to tap into his skill yet. 1 Quote

Where’s he playing though? He doesn’t diagnose quick enough to be suited for the Free role. Definitely suited for the Strong where he can be in positions that are reactionary. Right now Hamlin and Rapp are interchangeable between safety roles. That leaves him as a LB, he’s undersized and will get washed at that weight. Plus, you give Dorian the nod next to Bernard over him if it’s to replace, spell or supplant Milano. So where is the next option? Nickel DB? That still goes to Taron. Hands down. Even after his rough outing yesterday he’s still one of our best guys in the secondary period. Quote

Chugga Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Have we considered the idea of Allen playing both ways? I mean he’s sneaky fast, knows coverages amazingly well and would surely bring some energy to that side of the ball. Put Josh at FS and let him roam the field. Let this be the year that not only does he cut down on his own turnovers, but now he starts forcing them. 1 5 Quote

GETTOTHE50 Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Hamlin made a couple good tackles. Idk he’s close to being one of the main problems on defense. Quote
