One thing that really caught my eye in last nights game, solid performance from Bass in an indoor setting.

We’ve got one more indoor game in Detroit, if he looks like that again it’s encouraging for New Orleans.

He has been pretty good since that extra point miss against miami.

Even that kick last week that he missed in the snow, I thought he absolutely drilled it from 48 yards out. Just hooked a very little bit, but he hit that ball very pure, especially in those conditions

Kickers are like golfers. They don’t forget how, but they need a confident mindset. I pray he’s got that back, and it’s looking positive.

Not having wind also helps

Of course, but that affects every kicker, and player for that matter. But I’ll take a weather miss over the yips 100% of the time.

I was at the titans game right when the calls for his head were at their peak.  It really seemed like he was kicking for his job that day, that one miss of any kind,, and his Bills career could be over.

It was ridiculously windy that day - the kind of day where the kickers in warm-ups try at one end and sometimes the ball starts off then at some point just seems to stop mid-air and fall to the ground.  I said to my son "this is crazy bad conditions for Bass to be kicking to save his job"

Each time he lined up in the game I kept thinking about those warm-up kicks just dying - and thinking he knows if he misses he is probably toast.  And he nailed every kick.  Not sure people can appreciate how difficult even an extra point was in those conditions.

It was a pretty remarkable performance given the situation, conditions, and pressure

I think that 61 yard GW shifted him mentally in a positive direction. Kickers are like pitchers and goaltenders. Mental part is huge.

It's a huge development for the team.

You can also tell his mechanics are right again. The kicks look pure and there's very little slice in either direction.

After watching their guy kick in the snow and wind i was not expecting that.  If he got the line right that might have been good from like 60.

I don't know.......if i only had one job to do, i would make sure i was the very best at it.

Can I call your boss and ask if this is accurate? I have my doubts 🤣

One thing I'd like to see is... a more effective plan for kicking off short in poor conditions.  High and long "can" work if you're kicking into the wind, its hard to catch the ball if its moving with wind and the higher it is the more it'll be affected.  But I've seen some of those line drive short ones in that 10-20 yard range that once they hit are live balls, are really hard to catch in the air, and can cause panic in the return men.

i hope we have something like that up our sleeves because that field position (in a singular game) can be the difference sometimes.  Especially with a bend but don't break defense - it's that many more plays that exposes you to - sacks, penalties, turnovers.

That's my work motto, do the bare minimum when possible

It seemed like kickers were missing easy ones all day on Sunday in other games - and it's been a bad year for kicking in general.

I'm feeling as good about Bass as I would w/ just about anyone out there, save maybe 4-5 guys.
