That is one of the biggest upsets ever which is kind of forgotten about because the Broncos won back to back the following two seasons. When they lost at the time just about everyone questioned if Elway could get it done and if that was it.

the next season KC did the same thing and lost at home to the broncos as the 1 seed.

feels like five minutes ago but it was a life time ago.

So you want to keep all the same? No pain NO gain

The problem is when you look at McD's record, statistically the Bills have a much better shot and hiring a coach who'll do worse than better.  It's usually a 2 to 3 year window each time you change coaches so you could easily be here for the next  10 years with different coaches and not doing better.

They made a huge change and it failed and two more years were wasted of Elway's career.  Also you are leaving out elway and reeves always butted heads and shanahan was a mediator of sorts during his two stints with reeeves and the broncos.    McDermott and Allen do not have a bad relationship.

The same people calling for McDermott to be fired will be the same ones asking why McDermott was fired when the next guy say a mike vrabel or whoever can't win the division.

We might not beat Miami.....

I was surprised, but I shouldn’t have been by Tom Brady’s observations on the Bills last drive. After all Brady has 7 Super Bowl wins and is most likely the greatest quarterback ever because of that. With 2 minutes left in the game and the Bills not yet at midfield he’s talking about going for a field goal and keeping all of your time outs to win the game. I didn’t think so at the time but that was brilliant! I’ll bet that same thought process was not taking place on the Bills sidelines. There is the problem

I hate what I’m about to say but it’s not going to be easy to beat KC and win a Super Bowl, no matter what they do at head coach.

What I know right now is the Bills are a possession away from beating KC. I don’t know what happens with a coaching change.

We’ll see what happens in the playoffs this year. I’m just not ready to fire McDermott until I feel like the top AFC teams are pulling away from the Bills.

This.

Reality in the AFC meat grinder.  Led by the League darling Chiefs.

Apparently we’re the only team that can beat them.

So why in the world are we thinking of getting a new HC where it’s far more likely a lot goes wrong then right.

If 1 week ago we were “this team can win MULTIPLE championships!”   What’s changed today?  Absolutely nothing.

McD has far more strengths than flaws.  And he’s not going anywhere.

He made a mistake yesterday.  Will it cost us the 1 seed?  Idk.  I still believe the healthiest best team is winning the AFC regardless where they’re playing.

I feel shockingly very little anger today.  McD will learn from this to.  Like he has with everything else.

Now - if you want to voice concern for our personnel on D - specially the line I’m listening.

holy crap man, how many passes are you gonna give this guy.

while I agree he DOES more with less talent on defense than probably any coach in the league, the question remains why does he have to?
and no, he doesn't "learn" ... constantly failing josh allen to a criminal fault. most 12 year olds playing madden know you throw the ball 4 times from the 1.5 yard line. Brady was losing his mind in the booth at how dumb that call was.

The 90s Bills team had a HOF coach and studs on offense, defense, and special teams:  Kelly, Thomas, Hull, Talley, Biscuit, Bruce, Tasker, etc.

This team has Josh.

I really don't get why people think this is a SB caliber roster just missing a SB caliber coach.  It's not.

There is no way in hell I'm trusting this coach to make good coaching decisions in the final minutes of any Super Bowl (if he ever gets us there). The amount of pressure he would be under in a close game with Buffalo's first championship on the line, he botches it 9 times outta 10. Nobody can convince me otherwise. Josh would need to have to win in blowout fashion in order for us to win a Super Bowl under McDopey.

Could say the same thing about the Eagles eventually moving on from Andy Reid.

I disagree with this

o saw me abb losing games for them at times A not Andy Reid making coaching decisions to lose games

josh Allen loses games becuase of Sean mcdermott

he never gets help to win a game becuase of McDermott -

I remember Elway, saw him growing up... Great QB and legitimate first ballot Hof qb.

Allen is better.

Which is why it’s infuriating that weren’t even making Superbowls

It seems most know this.

What I don’t understand is how anyone trusts this regime to restock our D line or any other position, other than DB, with any degree of confidence they will get it right.

When I watch coach Mcdermotts D its neither. Its 100% straight whiskey. I loved Coach Mike Pettine and Jim Schwartz defense. They were more fun to watch than the offense.

But at the end of the day he got it right and won two Super Bowls. I dont see this coach doing that as he doesnt seem to change. Beyond stubborn?

Pettine and Schwartz had Mario Williams, Hungry Marvell Dareus, Kyle Williams and Jerry Hughes. None of our current defensive lineman would start over any of those 4.

The lack of a hall of fame roster, does not have anything to do with bone headed late game coaching decisions.  Hope that clears up the concerns people have.

Problem is Bass hasn't been reliable so if he misses the kicker the game over right there. I agree with the time out after the missed TD on 1st down. That said think clock management inside 3 minutes angered me quite a bit.

Does anyone remember those Dan Reeves anti-perspirant commercials? "Never let em see you sweat." Man, the 80s were so cool.

I called for him to be fired 5 seconds after the 13 seconds loss.  Said there was no recovering from that.  The team would quit on him.

3 straight division titles later and the way they rebounded last year the way he immediately moved on from Dorsey the way he handled Diggs and still got team buy in (the O is better but let’s not discuss how this was possible with the fraud we called WR 1).

The ONLY coach I’d replace him with is McVay.  That’s the list of current coaches.  Not roll the dice on an OC.

McD isn’t going anywhere anytime soon so none of this matters anyway.

It's a SB roster as when this team as it's best they're almost unbeatable. When they don't they can lose just like every other team and usually by one missed play. Yesterday that was the missed non false start penalty against the Rams.
