Did you notice how in the post game interview McVay was over the top in his praising of Allen? My first thought was that when Stafford retires in 2 - 3 years McVay is setting up a situation where he could entice a 30/31 year old Allen to come play football for him. Yea I know there's a contract in place but by that time if the Bills haven't gotten over the hump and we're still having this same discussion............................. Oh I saw it, and unfortunately I think that’s a hope for him and a MUCH more realistic possibility than Bills fans want to believe. It’s one thing if they win a couple SBs and everything is great, but if it comes down to continued losing, getting older, having a shot with a real coach, back to his home state, home with his wife every night, don’t think for a second it won’t be on his mind. I said it during the game, “Josh is going to look amazing in LA after he’s sick of losing in Buffalo”. It’s not going to surprise me at all. Josh controls his own destiny, if he wants out he can force it, by 2026 his cap hit is 63M, if he won’t extend without being traded, he owns the Bills. He obviously could just choose to sit at any time and let the house crumble around him too. At very least he can play out the contract and the Bills can try to franchise him 2x, he’s still out by 35. Ideally, they win a couple SBs and he retires a Bill. With McD in charge, I don’t see it happening. McD is the Tony Dungy, Chuck Knox, Marv Lewis, Marty Shotenhiemer of this generation. Tantalizingly close, but never good enough. 1 Quote

Josh is from California, and if we do not start making SBs then I would not blame Josh for finding greener pastures. I will however blame the front office for not seeing this and not doing something when they had the chance and the writiing was clearly on the wall. That being said I think Josh's charachter would keep him here as long as the money is fair 1 Quote

That being said I think Josh's charachter would keep him here as long as the money is fair Allen wants nothing more then to win a Super Bowl for Buffalo. He clearly loves Western NY and is loyal by nature. But at some point he will see the end of his days as an elite QB talent and long for that championship. If the Bills continue to flounder in the playoffs it would only make sense for him to move on. 1 Quote
