Just curious where you see the Bills matching up well with Detroit. Detroit has the advantage at O line vs our D line, at RB vs our LBs, at WR vs our Safeties. Not trying to call you out specifically but just trying to get a sense of why people think this might be a close game...at all.

I would rest Allen and most offense starters tell the league everytime we play on this ***** turf one of our starters ends up with a bad injury. Let them win by 80 who cares. Tell the Lions see you in Feb. when it really counts

Yes...but no.

our offense vs their D.   We should have Coleman back for this one too.  
 

Agree that our defense is probably going to once again give up WAY too many big plays for our liking, but… if we can continue our success on offense, Josh can be a hero on a couple plays again, and the special teams blunders are cleaned up, we have a pretty good chance IMO.

I don't understand how this fragile "bills Mafia" fanbase that everyone is so proud of turns completely hostile after every loss.   

 

This is a top 6 franchise,  just won 6 (7?) in a row in a 32 team, insanely competitive league and everyone loses their mind after a single loss in an obvious trap game that anyone with a brain could see coming a mile away.

Should be a good game. Pressure is off with the 1 seed out of reach. A win should lock up Allen MVP. 

 

Want to see how the d responds vs another good offense.

I don't think it's the loss itself that fans are upset over. Nobody expects the Bills to win every single game as that is just not possible. What has fans concerned is the performance by the defense yesterday as it was a reminder of the playoff failures over the years. How can this team get to a Super Bowl much less win one if the defense constantly gets destroyed by good offenses/QB's with better HC's then McDermott. Over the years history has shown this to be a fact.

It's exactly this. It's not the losing...its the how they lost. Both the Ravens and Rams games the D was just bullied. And statistically speaking our D in the playoffs is BAD under McD. That's the crashing back to earth feeling that I had watching yesterday...

THIS right here.  The pressure for the 1 seed is gone now.  Also, normally when McDermott's defense lays an egg like they did yesterday, they respond really well and play with a chip on their shoulder the following game.  The only thing I will say is that for once it would be nice if the defense would start the game off with a 3 and out, a turnover, anything besides letting the other team do what they want.  This read and react/adjust defense will not get it done in the playoffs.  I do expect the team to come out and play much more inspired football next Sunday.

Defense is a big reason why Mahomes has 3 Super Bowl titles and Allen has none. When the media/fans talk about the Chiefs they start with Reid, Mahomes, and Kelce. Truth is Spags and his Chris Jones led defense always step up in big moments of the biggest games. That is one of the biggest reasons they win championships. Until the Bills defense can do that then Allen will never play in a Super Bowl much less win one.

100%. In fact, it's the main reason they are 12-1 right now. Their O is nothing special this year, but their D keeps them in every single game. If it wasn't for Allen's 4th and 2 conversion they may be undefeated thanks to their defense.

I fully expect Gibbs and Montgomery to bludgeon this defense.

Well, i don't feel good about this one..........yeah, i said the exact same thing against the Rams and got flamed hard for it (you know, ole Sweats might know a thing or two), but i think McD and Babich will have the D step up and actually compete in this one.

 

I mean, i still think we might keep it close for a little while anyways but prepare to have the doors blown off and possibly a good old fashioned out behind the woodpile spanking.

With Detroit, let's see, Bills come out in their soft Nickel, Bernard motioning to Milano as the snap happens on where to line up so he's late getting set (not to mention he's playing with one arm), Montgomery is into the second level with no linebackers in sight, with Hamlin and Rapp having to make the tackle. 

 

Goff back to pass, no pass rush whatsoever, Bills play soft zone, 10 yards off every WR, and Taron Johnson gets burned by St. Brown?

the Lions have an accurate QB and a solid running game. Its more of the same and I believe we will lose this one. This is the formula the Bills will continue to lose to, unless McD and Babich can scheme something that works.

The difference is the Lions aren't playing to stay alive and pulled everything out of their bag of tricks to win that game. However, the Rams just showed the world how to destroy that Buffalo defense. All we Bills fans can do is hope that the Bills find a Buffalo pass rush for this game. Because they didn't have one at all for the Rams.

Rams were missing basically their whole offense for most of the season so I don’t think their season ranks are super relevant.

 

Lions got a full strength rams week 1 of the season and the game went to overtime for comparisons sake
