I like the addition of Cooper a lot. He's big but so smooth. Radiates calm, makes the clutch catches. A real professional. If Coleman starts drawing attention, the two of them could complement each other very well.

It would be nice if we could afford him next year.

No Rasul Douglas today at practice.

No Rapp either.

Keon Coleman full.

Walkthrough.

I'm afraid Rapp's style is going to contribute to him being injured frequently.

If Bills and Steelers both go 3-1, with their loss being this week vs NFC team, anyone know who wins the tie breaker for the 2 seed?

If Pittsburgh beats KC and we end up tied with them we fall to the #3 seed.

It could be Cooper's last shot at a big contract since he's close to hitting 30, I'd love if he re-signs at a cap friendly deal but not sure he's been around long enough to do that.

This Detroit game is going to be great. There's so many reasons the Bills are going to show up and ball out for this game.

1) McDermott, Babich and the defense were humiliated.  They were taken to school vs LA and I can guarantee as high level competitors, the defense is coming as if this is a playoff game.  We all hope they stay away from injuries, but this is probably the final game before playoffs that everyone who can play is playing and going 110%.  They will be flying around the ball and tackling better to make amends from last week. They can't allow another opposing team Star player to go off with a career day. They can't and won't allow Detroit's Oline to dominate the trenches.

So another showing like the Rams game? The defense hasn’t been good in the playoffs.

Just play Elam already. We need more speed and athleticism in the secondary. Dude makes plays in huge moments every time he plays. I just don’t get what’s not to like by this coaching staff. Because he doesn’t play zone as well as Ingram? Please. I rarely quibble with any decision they make in the secondary because they’ve earned that, but this one just doesn’t make any sense. You spent a first rounder on the guy - give him a chance.

If Ingram starts in place of Douglas instead of Elam, then Elam's goose is well and truly cooked.

Eye Roll towards McDermott for this.

Expectations for Ja'Marcus Ingram all day against the Lions WR are zero for me.

What a complete waste of a pick Elam has turned out to be. Hasn't developed in McDermott's system at all since he was drafted.

They have no choice.  If the D gets torched all day in Detroit and can't slow them down?  then just pack up the season and get ready for the draft.

Agreed.

This is absolutely, 100% the final chance Elam is going to have with this team.

The thinking has been that they've kept him because he had a really good Summer, and the only reason he hasn't been playing is that he didn't beat out Benford or Douglas. Okay, well....Douglas now appears set to miss a game. Soooo....

I have understood Elam's being gameday inactive up until now because Ingram plays special teams and Elam really doesn't. But special teams aren't what we need this Sunday if Douglas is out -- good cornerback play is.

If they really, truly feel that undrafted Ja'Marcus Ingram is the superior option at boundary corner, then why is Elam even still on the roster? If he can't get on the field for special teams OR defense, then why use a roster spot on him? Is he really SO bad that they won't even use him on defense in a game against a non-conference opponent when they already have a playoff spot sewn up?

I, too, will always give the benefit of the doubt to the coaching staff when it comes to DBs, but this Elam stuff is madness.

Based on what? If the Steelers and Bills both lose this week and win the following three games, their records will be 13-4. Their conference records will both be 10-2. Their records vs common opponents will both be 4-1.

In that case, it would come down to strength of victory, and we won't know that until all the games are played.

I used the ESPN playoff machine, http://www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs/machine

If I am not mistaken, folks said the same thing before 1st Phins game, a game in which Ingram has 2 picks and one was a pick six.  Give the dude a chance.

Ok, but it completely depends on how every other game plays out. There are some scenarios where Bills get the #2 seed and some where the Steelers do.

I'd guess that the linchpin is probably the Steelers/Ravens game.
