We’ve got 4 games to experiment with players/scheme to get an idea of what may work best in the playoffs. I want Milano in there every snap to knock the rust off and see if he has anything left. I want Coleman in there to get as many reps as he can because I think he could be a big weapon. I want Elam to get a real shot and see if he can play (I’m going to sht myself if Ingram gets the nod). I’d like Eli Anku to get activated because he’s the only DT with a pulse who stops the run. Put Bishop in there and see if he’s learned anything since getting smoked against Houston. Bench Ed Oliver and tell him he sucks and maybe that will light a fire under his over paid ass when he gets back in for the playoffs. I’d only put Kincaid in there if he’s 100%. He’s in a sophomore slump and Knox is a better blocker. We are going to need our run game because Josh can’t go God Mode for 4 straight games. 

 

My biggest concern is the D-line. They just don’t have it and unless we see a significant improvement in play, we aren’t going past the division round again. I don’t think it’s the scheme as much as the talent. With all the money and resources we’ve put on that line it’s an indictment of Beane that they are consistently the reason we get bounced in the playoffs. 

 

I hope this year is different but I’m skeptical.

 

Oh btw, McD should have definitely declined the penalty against the Rams because it allowed them to run 40 more seconds off the clock. That alone should have made the choice to decline an easy one. I was losing my sht mainly because of that reason. I don’t care if they went for it and made it, it was the time we needed to conserve and that’s where McD consistently screws up. Don’t get me started on the time out.

 

 

 

I have no doubt in the playoffs Josh COULD actually go God Mode for 4 games...he was about to do just that in 2021.

Oh no doubt he could. I agree the D has to show some sign of life because we’ve already proven a few times that even in God Mode we can lose because the D is so horrific.

Or the "D" plays OK enough to win; - except for the last two minutes or 13 seconds, which makes it more agonizing.

It's hard to fathom and I don't think I ever have thought this about any other player not only on the Bills but in the entire NFL, but Rapp's good play needs to be judged against the number of teammate injuries he causes each year to decide whether he can be a part of this team next year...

 

The man has injured more players than I have ever seen a single person be responsible for and honestly it might cost the Bills too much in that department to keep him around.

 

I agree he was a danger last year, but has he really had much friendly fire this year? He hit Douglas last week, has he taken out any other Bills this year? I’ve actually been pretty pleased with how much he ISN’T going down the huge hit and had been playing the ball much more

"The injury occurred when Johnson went to wrap up Cardinals receiver Greg Dortch a yard behind him. As Johnson brought his right arm in front of Dortch, Bills safety Taylor Rapp had already launched toward the receiver, with Rapp’s helmet connecting straight with Johnson’s forearm."

 

Rapp is a menace to his own team.

That was not in any way, shape or form Rapp's fault.

He was doing exactly what he was supposed to be doing defending the sticks and he put his hat right on the ball trying to force it out like he should.

It was nothing but bad luck that Taron just happened to get his forearm in the that exact spot at that exact second.

That may be the case in this instance. But it's beyond mere coincidence when he takes out two players on his own team per season when most guys never do that, or maybe it happens once, in a career. It's also no coincidence he suffers from concussions himself.

Wish it was Cole and Rapp starting instead of Cole and Hamlin. Rapp has been on ne of our best defensive players this year

The D didn't play OK in that game...they literally didn't stop anyone all game

He won the Jets game for us with multiple TD saving plays in a one score game.
 

The 49ers game could have actually been close without his contributions.

 

Douglas played like crap last week. Either him or Hamlin are our weakest links in the secondary. I’m eager to see Elam and what he might bring.

It's like any other rookie w/ this team. Bernard hardly had any snaps his rookie season, then he's amazing in year 2. He could have started his whole rookie season - I'm sure there would be mistakes, but these guys are talented.

 

McD is way too conservative w/ that.  He wants it to be too perfect.

 

Rapp has been tremendously good this year. Why would we bring Bishop in other than injury?

Well, yes. He may be a menace to his own team but he's a menace (in a better way) to the other team as well. I am not saying he sucks, far from it. But his style of play is likely to shorten his career and perhaps those of others as well.

Rapp has been good. Maybe Bishop offers more man versatility because of his speed 

 

Same with Elam 

 

You never want to overreact to one game but what if the covg and overall defense looks much better with Elam, Bishop and Dorian Williams playing more in 3 lb sets?

 

It's a good problem to have possibly. We can rest up Douglas and Rapp for a couple weeks or so and really evaluate the difference 

 

This is the award tho of winning the division early. You get to rest guys and you don't need to bring them back until they're 100%.  You can then maybe be more comfortable looking at possible changes before the playoffs. 

 

 

Rapp plays such a physical game, he probably needs a rest regardless
