Orlovsky made a good point in an interview i saw today.  He said the Bills don’t see the Shanahan style offense in the AFC.  McVay’s offense uses a lot of the same principles.  on a dry indoor field, with all his weapons back, Stafford was able to exploit the D and caused the Bills to have problems.

He said Detroit also uses many features of the Shanny style offense.  We can expect more problems unless they can fix things this week. Plus, Detroit just has really good offensive players.  scheme or not they are hard to defend.

This is the most critical game all year for Allen's MVP candidacy.

If the Bills lose, he won't escape the narrative of losing to good teams. People will forgive everything else if the Bills beat both the Chiefs & Lions.

As much as I want to win for playoff seeding, I really want to win to keep the MVP hopes alive.

pretty sure Allen doesn't give two ***** about the MVP...  he knows what the goal really is

I agree with this.  Fans and tv talking heads can get worked up over  sports politics.  Lombardi trophy is the only award that matters.

I think good/great rushing teams alone are our Achilles heal.  Just so happened that Stafford and his WRs decided to go supernova against us this week too, but I think getting beat in the air will be more the anomaly than a frequent occurrence.  Hope Goff doesn’t prove me wrong 😬

Usually if they only have to focus on the run we can deal with that, but as soon as we have a rushing attack that is something we have to focus on and they can pass

at will then we cant shut down both.   Usually we can score fast enough that a strictly running team will be forced to pass and make mistakes.

thats why this D tends to suck in the playoffs is because its great against 3/4s of the teams we face but in the playoffs when you have an accurate

qb that doesnt make stupid mistakes and they can run as well we just dont have the talent to keep up and scheme alone wont do it.

with that said im hoping for an upset.

Ya only Miami runs the shanahan style, but doesn't look like they are going to make the playoffs this year so shouldn't have to deal with that.

I don't know....he has a $1.5 million bonus if he gets MVP, I believe.

Sometimes the simplest explanation makes sense as well:

We just came off a high of clinching, and flew cross country to play a talented team whose season was on the line. As someone else said, the Rams brought their A++ game and we brought Josh Allen.

On to Detroit.

He might not care about it - but I do.

Allen is the best player in the league right now.  I feel like this team lets him down at times and he deserves much more than he's gotten to this point.  I hope that doesn't keep happening in the playoffs, but nothing is guaranteed.  It's a big thing to win MVP, and he has earned it.

Plus, if Allen doesn’t win MVP at this point, it’d likely be because we have additional losses down the stretch, which I don’t think Josh or anyone here wants.

If Allen has broke the record for most TDs in NFL history thru the first 8 seasons of a career in under 7 seasons and he still doesn't win MVP then they literally need to open an investigation of the MVP voters for collusion and bribery because at this point they are simply refusing to give Allen the MVP no matter what he does.

How absurd is it to think the player who has had the most TDs in the history of the NFL thru his 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th seasons, the player who leads the NFL all-time in touchdowns/game and one who constantly is doing things nobody else has ever done before and breaking all time records like it's childs play somehow has never been MVP?

Detroit is going to destroy our soft defense.  Hopefully the offense can out score them

opened at 50.5 and got pushed up to 54.5 as of today

i could see the under tbh, lions defense is actually pry good and we try to make them beat us on the ground

I am going to guess we get one of the best games of the year for the D. That might mean holding them to 24-27 but we should be able to score more than that.

Their defense has not faced anyone of Allen's caliber this year

Win at Detroit and last week’s loss is forgotten. Defense has to get to Goff and force some turnovers.

Play in front with a lead and this defense will look better. Detroit has been good but think they can be gotten. Have to be able to run the ball better outside the QB.

It’s pretty absurd

2020 and 2023 were his best chances at MVP out side of this season.

He’s had some bad luck including this year. If Saquan wasn’t a threat to break the rushing record Allen would be all but guaranteed to win. If Saquan breaks the record I honestly think it will be close to a toss up as to who wins. That’s some bad luck. How often does a running back break the all time rushing record?

2020 I thought Rodgers legitimately deserved it over Allen.

Last year was a joke though and Allen was robbed.

surprisingly a lot of sports shows think buffalo pulls out a win.   i do think we have a better chance after the loss to the rams,

over had we won.

The only thing i have to say about that is how many records has allen been breaking lately..in a qb driven market.   i heard pundits say that its all that more

amazing for Barkley because teams dont rush like that anymore.   I look at it the opposite way though..for one there hasnt been that market for superior running backs or the game planning for them so a lot less competition and teams arent built to stop the run like they were 10-20 years ago.

Detroit doesn't use any Shanny anything. They use a coach that will go on 4th one too many times and QB that when he actually needs to be relied on,will throw an int.

They went 4 for 4 last week on 4th down. That means they've already run out of favorable odds.

Either the coach or Goff will F this game up.

They are front runners. It will end.
