Everything that a fan should worry about with this team was on display in one game. Terrible defense all around. No pass rush. Can't stop the run. Couldn't stop 3rd down. Bad coaching. Horrible coaching. Another decent QB with a good HC shredding the defense. Even a little QB accuracy issues in the first half. We've seen this all before. Our only hope is Allen is superhuman and we get a few lucky bounces on defense in the playoffs. On a positive note, they actually successfully ran a High School screen play! It looked beautiful with a little eye candy fake pass to Shakir to the right and perfect blocking to the left. As good of a screen we have seen since the KGun. Exactly. It's not that they lost. The Bills will lose games, but it is the way they lost. Reminded me of all the playoff failures especially the KC and CIN games. Edited December 10 by Gregg 2 3 1 1 Quote

Reminded me of all the playoff failures especially the KC and CIN games. We certainly played poorly on D and special teams against the Rams - That said, I'd be cautious to equate or extrapolate that poor play to playoff games/must-win situations. I am cautiously optimistic that the level of play we'll see in the playoffs will be much improved compared to the Rams game. They needed to win; we didn't. Bills are undefeated at home this year - I expect us to get the 2 seed and have first game against Broncos or Chargers. We win and then maybe Pittsburgh comes to town and we win and either play at KC in championship game or host Ravens. At least one can hope! Go Bills. Edited December 10 by TheWei44 1 Quote

Having Henry makes their offense a lot more dangerous. You still have LJ to deal with. I hope they face the Steelers on WC weekend. Pitt seems to have their number. If the Steelers win the division, then Pitt should beat them at home 2 Quote
Solomon Grundy Posted December 10 Posted December 10 One good thing about the loss was seeing the Allen/Cooper connection developing 2 3 Quote

The chance to win is Josh Allen and the offense playing as well as they did v Rams; because the defense, even if it plays better will still get gashed. you know, that's a great point. we lost the turnover battle if you consider a blocked punt a TO (i do) and especially since they just got it back for a TD. if we only allowed a FG after they got the ball back, we might have won the game with a lead the whole 4th quarter. If the bills d gets zero TOs, they are trash. sadly, that's the reality of it. the good part is russ, lamar, and mahomes love to turn it over. the bad part is a well oiled on time O like the rams or detroit just exposes everything we lack on D. I kinda feel like the d and mcd and babbich know the pooped the bed and need to show out next sunday 1 Quote
finn Posted December 10 Posted December 10 (edited) 1 hour ago, VaMilBill said: What stafford did wasn’t only mistake free. It was absolutely perfect throw and decisions almost every play. I don’t really see any QB doing that to us outside of Mahomes perhaps. He was brilliant. I don't think any defense in the league would have held up against Stafford and Nakua yesterday. You could count their offense's mistakes on one hand. The Bills defense is built to capitalize on their opponents' mistakes: penalties, bad routes, dropped balls, etc. Without them, they were (and are) easy pickings. The good news is that it will be hard for other teams to replicate that level of execution. And you may be referring to past versions of Mahomes, not this year's. I would pick Stafford any day at this point. Didn't see him over- and underthrowing receivers every other play. Stafford may be a statue, but, at least yesterday, he played as Mahomes ever has. One last thought: As brilliant as Stafford was Sunday, Allen was even better. What a display of fine quarterbacking we saw yesterday! I don't recall better offhand. Even the famous Kelly-Young dual wasn't as high level. In the downer of the loss, it's easy to not take in how lucky we were to witness that game as it unfolded. Reminds me of the 13-second game in both respects: rare brilliance tarnished by inept coaching. Edited December 10 by finn 1 1 Quote

I do think they need to be smart about how they re-deploy Kincaid and Coleman, because Allen looks to have serious synergy with these 3 + Knox and the usage of a 6OL. Coleman, I think is a bit easier to integrate, given he can be used as a big body contested catch guy and was showing WR2 ability before he got hurt. Kincaid and Allen have been off all season, so hopefully they can get on track, because if they can.. good luck to any defense. 2 Quote
loveorhatembillsfan4life Posted December 10 Posted December 10 (edited) Maybe it's just me, be but it feels like lot of Analysts now seem to be changing their tune to how Special and Amazing Josh is. I don't remember a year where more and more coming out in the media proclaiming him the top Player in the NFL. You still got a few morons still there like Shannon Sharpe spewing CTE thoughts.. Maybe the turnovers were always the sticking the point, but now that he is playing Clean football and continuing to bring his game that we have seen for years, when Josh is ON, he is practically unstoppable. I can see us getting a lot of national games again next season because people want to see Josh and the Bills play. Which is why I think, the media is and will now pointing the bullseye directly on McDermott. We can't keep wasting these special performances by Josh year after year. It must just grow tiresome at some point. If this happens in the playoff the blowback on MCD is going to be intense. Edited December 10 by loveorhatembillsfan4life 1 Quote

Casey D Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Line down to 1.5. Given that folks around here saying Lions will lay 90 points on Bills, seems like that makes Lions a great wager. Who is betting on the Bills? Quote

Why do you consider a healthy Stafford with Nacua and Kupp a "Decent QB"? You are talking about a top 5 offensive unit who are 6-2 in their last 8 weeks as guys are getting healthy. As I wrote in another thread, over the past 4 years this team has allowed 35 points or more only 5 times, and 4 were to top level offenses. Quote
Dillenger4 Posted December 10 Posted December 10 Oud D is getting ripped in the media this week and I'm sure hoping Bobby boy and McD put some pressure on them to win one for the Joshipper! Maybe we see Ingram start. Maybe Hyde plays a few series over Hamlin (example). But something has to change. Quote

Seahawks (8-5) and the Rams (7-6). They play against each other in the regular season finale. Great chance that game gets flexed to SNF. Also, the Cards and Niners are still there at 6-7 but it looks like it will be between the Seahawks and Rams. Quote
