So you’re not impressed with the play calling of Detroit? It’s just a good offensive line?

Everyone keeps asking what Johnson will look like without an elite OL, RB, QB (kind of), and receivers.

But....how will Detroit look without Johnson?

I wouldn’t say I’m not impressed I just don’t think he’s so mind blowingly good of an OC that he’s a can’t miss head coaching prospect and having a great oline definitely opens the playbook up more.   Obviously if we get blown out in the wildcard round or something the decision gets easier, but if we lose a tight game in the second or third round that is a toughhhh decision to make.

tale as old as time a hyped coordinator leaves for a head coaching job and the team is unaffected but the hyped coordinator completely flames out as a head coach.  Heck it just happened with us not long ago and it’s probably about to happen again haha

Who is a better defensive mind...Belichick or McDermott?

Who has outcoached Reid in big games...Bill or McD?

Who held the Rams to three points in a SB? Made Peyton Manning look like a scrub twice? Has a gameplan in the HOF? Hint: It wasn't McD.

Sorry...I'm at the point where I'm outright angry we haven't sniffed a SB with a generational QB. Belichick sucking without Brady would only be relevant if we had a scrub at QB. We do not.

Yeah...I think I'll take the more despised, yet much better HC over the nice guy who freezes in big moments.

I'm not advocating for belichick but i think the loss of brady and the end of belichicks run in NE clouds peoples judgment. He's the best ever and he had some of the greatest defensive schemes and adjustments of all time. He stumped kelly and the k gun, Peyton and Marvin Harrison, he made Todd gurley and mcvay look pathetic after they ran all over the league, he took cam Newton and a horrendous team to the playoffs, dialed up blitzes to confuse matt Ryan, and many more. To even question if belichick is better in big time situations than mcd is ridiculous. He's the best to ever do it.

They will run out of nearly any down and distance because they know they will go for nearly any 4th down. The screen game is damn impressive and the play design is just unreal at times. They ran like an in route / corner for the Thanksgiving game, never have seen it in my life. Jet sweeps, offensive lineman throwing. Creative as all hell. Bill Walsh had good players as I recall. Is that punishment now? Is Josh not good?

This.

And if Belichick came here and won a SB, how many people in Buffalo would hate him? None.

He would have a statue and street named after him.

First sentence is my favorite because they literally blew the nfc championship getting stuffed on multiple 4th downs that they absolutely should not have gone for haha

if we had the lions coaching staff we’d still be hammering them for that big blown lead in the playoffs and trying to run them out of town to hire some other hot OC prospect 😂

I love how people are acting like Belichick wouldn't immediately make the Defense better. He's a Defensive Genius: It was the combo of Brady/Belichick that made that team so good for so long.

That said there is no reason to pick him up over Vrabel

I want Ben Johnson myself. I want an Offensive Minded coach to pair with the Superstar QB

So your concern Is about how they played in a game we can’t even reach,

In a world where Ben Johnson forces his head coach into going for it on 4th down. Credible take my friend.

He wouldn’t…there’d be a lot of roster turnover I’d imagine.  And even if he eventually did, how many years is he coaching for? I think he’s gonna take a college job to try to get his son back into coaching tbh.  With the way his pats career ended nfl teams aren’t gonna give him free rein to do whatever he wants so that won’t fly

If Terry had any balls, he’d fire McD and Hire Belichek immediately after we lose AGAIN in the playoffs this season. Period! Plain and simple.

...

Considering I fathered children, once led soldiers into combat, and see those little gems hanging every time I urinate, I think I have balls.   Yet I wouldn't fire McD.  I don't think having balls necessarily leads to McD getting terminated.

Just my humble opinion.

I wouldn't let him be GM. Strictly coaching. I also don't think a lot of turnover on the Defense is a bad thing. Benford is the only player on Defense I would hate to lose

You don’t think the OC is involved in that decision at all when he’s calling the plays? Lol. And to take it a step further, you were just talking about how great they were because they go for every 4th down when the time that it really mattered it completely blew up in their face so that seemed extremely relevant

but no that wasn’t my main point, my main point is the lions are 1/1 in epic playoff failures maybe wait to see it play out a little longer before you fire a good head coach and replace him with someone with no head coaching experience just because the playoff bracket worked out so he saw the peak team of the NFC a round later than the bills did in the AFC

I mean it takes time to turn that many players over though is what I’m getting at…there’s a legitimate chance belichick would not live long enough to do it.  Not because it takes THAT long, just because he’s that old haha

These takes will keep aging like a deuce on a hot day with bad ventilation

1. Johnson

2 Belichick

....Sean's time with Buffalo is over in my eyes.

I actually would plan on him having 3 years but I heard you. It doesn't make sense to hire him over Vrabel anyways. If you hire a Defensive Coach it's Vrabel.

I just want Ben Johnson or the Bills to make a trade for like Shanahan.

Just promote Brady. I think the Bills letting him take a head coaching job anywhere else would be a massive mistake. He’s built something special here with Josh, and this Bills defense is same exact bend but don’t break BS we saw with Dick Jauron except McDick has the greatest player of all time running his offense instead of JP Losman…

Not gonna lie, I support the escalation of his nickname

I'm old enough to remember when we said that about Daboll. Starting to think that maybe it's Allen
