Belichick is too old. If McD did get fired there’s only a handful of coaches that I would want. Maybe Sean McVay or Kyle Shanahan those types of coaches, young, intuitive, offensive minded savants..

Belichick will punt on a lot of fourth downs McDermott goes for it on.

Belichick!?

He is the one who started the fad of going for it on 4th down. He went for 4th and 2 from the deeeeeep in his own territory (against Indi) 15+ years ago when that was unheard of.

No, they just don't like McD or want to blaim someone.  (Same as Smiley getting all the hate right now.  And probably rightfully in his case).  He does stupid stuff in crunch time.  I'm not going to deny that.  But when the team is rolling they forget that he's the defensive schemer from the start.  Not, Babich or Frasier.

If you like the team you support the team.  Every week its about who sucks, who's trash, how we will never win anything.  So I dont think that is actually liking the team.  It is obsessing over the team.

Watching the Bengals I remember how people here wished we had a coach like Zak Taylor.  They still have great talent.  Weird how they dont dominate every year like the Bills.

And who's going to fix our "piss poor" defense? I'm saying this in jest but seriously. Everyone wants to bring in a great offensive mind but is it worth it at expense of defense? As yes the D was horrible yesterday but what DC do we get? As great as McVay was his D gave up more than ours did.

It’s much harder to find a coach who is a savant on the offensive side of the ball, which is important to note because offense is more important in today’s NFL. You don’t really see too many shutdown defenses these days.

Andy Reid was in the top 10 all time in NFL HC wins and also made it to a Super Bowl before Mahomes ever took an NFL snap

Yeah, he grew as a coach but he also finally got his QB.

Reid is the true GOAT imo and if he can stay healthy and wants to continue to coach for another 6-7 years he'll be #1 in everything all time except maybe SB wins as HC

No. But you do need a defense that can make a stop or turn the ball over. Give me an above average defense with an average offense over the reverse any time.

Unfortunately we have Marty Schottenheimer 2.0. Good coach, good guy and respected by his peers.  He’ll win a lot of games and division titles, but he will never make the right decisions that get you to a SB.

McD getting torn to shreds on all the media podcasts - and rightly so.

JA17 apparently has a 5-6 record when accumulating 400+ yards of total offense and 4+ total TDs - that is a stunning stat.

We will not win a SB under this guy. Great Monday to Saturday coach. Horrific on Sundays.

I'd be thrilled if I was a phins, pats and jets fan and they fired McD. Anything to break up the divisional dominance would be a plus as coaches and players go. Yeah, not happening

Won't even get to a Super Bowl much less win one. But for some fans having a winning regular season and winning one playoff game is enough, I guess. For me its.

Did we think we're KC and sliding into the playoffs with a near perfect record?.........you know, we're going to collect a few losses along the way.

LA is still in the playoff hunt, and they wanted it more.

It's as simple as that.

Sure, the play calling was suspect, the D didn't even show up, the ST's was a mess, McD made some crucial mistakes, etc. but it's better to get it out of their system now before we hit the post season where it's a "one and done" format.

Everybody just calm the **** down.

I agree with your premise that no one thought we were going to have an undefeated season.  There are a ton of fans and media that looked at this year as rebuilding given the players we lost.

The Defense can improve with better play, scheming, rotating in other players possibly, but the one area of concern that is valid is McDermott’s coaching decisions.  It is absolutely irrefutable that he has consistently made some head scratching calls - especially in critical moments.  The troubling part is that he seems to not learn from his previous mistakes.

The real hope is that we go on a heater come play off time and McD is not put in a position where one of his calls is critical to the outcome of the game. It can happen.

What if Jets or Pats hire McD?

I could see the Jets doing this 100% and it's not going to matter because they don't have a quarterback to make him look good.

Forget Belicheat.  You want a proven retread and one that has an offensive slant go get Gruden.

I would not hate this either.

The reality is this.

McD is a very good HC, involving multiple diverse indices, including culture, support, teaching, getting his team ready annd schemed for football on Sundays.

Where he is an abject failure is one of the most critical sub components. He is simply ***** terrible about closing out halfs and games. Time left and TOs are his Achilles heel. He simply does not know what he must do or what he can NEVER do!

Been burned multiple times.

Should the Bills make the SB, I never, ever want the Lombardi decided on what McClapper will do or not do.

We know the result will be wrong.

He doesn't come from the offensive side of the ball but what about Mike Vrabel as a proven retread.

You guys are crazy and so is anybody who thinks Belichick isn't an instant upgrade. The last time someone gave him a great QB, he brought home 6 Lombardi's and stop fooling yourselves if you think it was all TB!2, go take a look at the defensive rankings for his SB runs, then talk the smack. I say it again and again - numbers don't lie. We will get hammered this week by Detroit but don't worry, we look like world beaters for the rest of the garbage games left and people will start talking how good the Bills are. When we get in the playoffs again against Mahomes, Wilson, Jackson, Herbert - see what Stafford did last week? Going to see it again because that coach is gonna die on that hill and so is 17's career if he doesn't get into the owners ear at some point. (Philip Rivers? Dam Marino? Jim Kelly?)

Next year Allen will be 29 and has nothing but early exits and nonsense to show for it. Division titles are garbage, you need the ring, period. I can't believe how many homers defend McD like he has accomplished anything other then draft the guy that has been the only thing literally saving his job so far. Seriously, what is the Bills record without Allen?? How many passes does this guy get?

I swear to God, it's like when the message board was at OBD and listening to everyone defend Levy like he was the next coming after JJ embarrassed him -twice.... the more things change

Sorry for the rant - just frustrated
