Big Turk Posted December 11 Posted December 11 1 hour ago, klos63 said: He's not that great. Can't shed blocks, not much in coverage. He's a decent player, better than our previous backups, but not a big play guy. Milano and Bernard can be expected to make game changing plays, not Williams. Williams is the most sure tackling LB we have had in a long time tho... That's not nothing. 1 Quote
BarleyNY Posted December 11 Posted December 11 (edited) This isn’t necessarily an either/or situation. It’s to be expected that Milano would be rusty. Also he’s been hurt a lot lately and is north of 30 now so washed is very much a likelihood. But Williams sucks in coverage so Milano will be given a long leash to show what he has left in the tank. It’s sad, but this season is probably his last in Buffalo. Unless he reworks his contract. A team can’t pay guys that keep winding up on IR. Edited December 11 by BarleyNY Quote
The Frankish Reich Posted December 11 Posted December 11 Think Von Miller. Not washed, but maybe not ready to compete at a high level in 2024-25. And then if he is back to form next year, there's no reason to expect him to be as big an impact player as he was pre-injury. Again, think Von Miller this year as compared to Von Miller pre-Bills knee injury. Quote
uninja Posted December 11 Posted December 11 He needs game reps, plain and simple. You gotta give them to him somehow and it can’t just be garbage time. He hasn’t looked great, and I don’t know that I’d give him this much workload but maybe he needs it to get the mental processing part going again. 2 Quote
Snowbowl Posted December 11 Posted December 11 I don’t know if he’s washed but having him play almost the entire game while Williams, the tackling machine, is benched is stupid. Should be splitting with Williams. Then on the last three games which should be pretty ez give him more time so he’s ready for the playoffs. Plus giving W some playing time will keep him game ready in case M gets hurt again which wouldn’t surprise me at all. 1 1 Quote
Ray Stonada Posted December 11 Posted December 11 Would it kill us the play some 4-3? Is Taron that untouchable? 1 Quote

Thrivefourfive Posted December 11 Posted December 11 Since it’s a question, I’ll answer it: We don’t know yet. But, he’s back on the field. In no reality whatsoever did any serious person think he’d eye ball test as an All Pro at this point. Or a Pro Bowler. ….I’m surprised he’s starting… 41 minutes ago, Ray Stonada said: Would it kill us the play some 4-3? Is Taron that untouchable? I’m ready to put weighted shoulder pads on TJ7 and line him up in that 4-3. 42 | 43 | 7 go! Quote

BearNorth Posted December 12 Posted December 12 I though Cine was signed to Bulk up and be a "Big Nickel" who would be a hybrid LB/S type. Other than ageless wonder Bobby Wagner [34 yrs old] most of the other top LB's in the league are in their 20's. Milano is likely reaching end of useful life as a LB. Out of the 175 LB's who have played this year, Milano is among the 25 oldest. Quote

Milano still has 4 more games to get up to speed. Williams can still stop the run and Gibbs/Montgomery are going to be a problem. Quote

His explosive ability, speed and violence vs the run is desperately needed. Again why was he not starting vs KC in the playoffs last year. When he finally came in late we got some stops. So annoying Edited December 12 by Kelly to Allen 1 Quote
NoName Posted December 15 Posted December 15 He's washed and rusty but more washed. I wonder how much in dead cap if they traded or cut him at the end of the season? Quote
