The guy is really good, and he played really really well. Right. I said he was awful yesterday but ***** happens and he will bounce back. Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Watched Milano close in the 2nd half. He’s hobbled. There was one play a player fell into his leg and he had a hard time getting up. Stumbled a little getting up. Another play he looked awkward running in space. Bills must see this as well. Rams were getting lineman on him all the time. He couldn’t disengage. 1 1 Quote
LarryMadman Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Most here don't understand how severe his knee injury was, he will be lucky to become and avg LB once back at full strength. 1 Quote

Again wasn't this a bone break with reports that all his knee ligaments were intact? I think the bigger issue is he is playing with one arm out there, with a restriction brace on leaving it in an L. 17 minutes ago, Buffalo_Stampede said: Watched Milano close in the 2nd half. The Bills training staff and coaches have just stepped on the gas immediately with him. Two weeks of practice and he's just taking 100% of non-Dime snaps now. Quote
hondo in seattle Posted December 9 Posted December 9 As someone said previously in another thread, the 90s Bills laid some eggs during the season and still reached the SB. That's what I'm hoping for. But that defensive performance - combined with the D's performance against the Ravens - makes me worry. Also, that 90s roster had its fair of jags but at the top of the roster was Bruce, Biscuit, etc. We don't have anyone like that now. Quote

While he's still better than Williams, they really need to him to find his A-game in the next month. I'd agree with all this except I do believe that Williams by mid year was playing better than MM currently is from an overall perspective. Hopefully MM finds it soon. If not, we do have a pretty good insurance policy in Williams at least, as compared to last year's options like Klein, etc. 1 Quote

He was around the ball. Milano made one play that looked like his old self. But change of direction isn’t there yet. Quote
Riverboat Ritchie Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I don’t get why there is not a rotation with Dorian, especially on running downs. 2 Quote

Let's give him a little bit before calling him washed No, no, no you just misunderstand... He is NOT "calling him washed", just throwing that out there in the ether, that idea, after Milano's two games. Just another objective, even handed post from a non hater. Just asking some questions, of course, nothing ultra negative there at all... Quote
stlbills13 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Dorian wasn't playing poorly. I'm just surprised Milano is essentially in a full-time role from day 1. That's the only thing I don't totally understand. 1 1 Quote
Mat68 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 (edited) He is swimming in it right now. I know Milano has clout and played at a high level in the past. Williams in his 2 years has been allowed a fraction of the runway they are affording Milano. If Williams had consecutive series at Milanos current level he would be benched. It’s fair asking how much more time is allowed. Detroit? Edited December 9 by Mat68 1 1 Quote

He just looks off. Either mentally he is a beat off or physically he is. I think thats the question. Quote
North Buffalo Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Let both and Williams get reps... gonna need both... make them both do wind sprints and whatever linebackers do... grass drills etc Quote
BuffaloMatt Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Dorian Williams did not get one rep! Even IF Milano was playing well, Williams was leading team in tackles. SMH messing with the D's communication etc. Quote

Definitely in the second half they had intermittently switched him and Bernard where Milano was lined up on the right side of the D which I never remember him doing before injury. Milano looked slow to read and react IMO, the game looked too fast for him mentally and also physically. Got fooled by the O misdirections and out of position or took bad angles. I'm voting rust and definitely want to get him up to speed for the playoffs but not at the complete expense of Williams. Cycle them, Milano may not return enough where we need Williams top of his game in the playoffs. Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I do think McDermott needs to think about a rotation of Elam at cb and Dorian Williams at linebacker to at least upgrade the athletic ability and speed. I do think Milano will be a lot better in January Quote
machine gun kelly Posted December 9 Posted December 9 The problem wasn’t Milano yesterday, it was horrible defensive line play. The majority of tackles shouldn’t come from the back 7. Quote
