Eastport bills Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Why is Matt not coming off the field if he hasn’t played in a year and a half. He’s out of position and can’t chase down running plays or underneath receivers as well as Dorian. He’s not making tackles and our run defense was invisible. It’s a game like this that scares you to death about winning big games against quality QBs, with good O-lines and RBs. Josh will have to score 30 plus with no mistakes. Quote

While he's still better than Williams, they really need to him to find his A-game in the next month. Agree...I think they are hoping Milano finds his game in time for the playoffs and are willing to potentially sacrifice some regular season issues to get him there. 4 Quote
Ya Digg? Posted December 9 Posted December 9 If we are basing this off of today’s game, there isn’t a single player on defense who isn’t rusty or washed 4 1 Quote
DCofNC Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I don’t know, but it wasn’t great for the last 2 games. I don’t get why he’s automatically handed the job back when Williams was playing pretty well and he’s clearly not. 2 1 Quote
Dr.Sack Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Milano got juked on one run so bad I felt worth for him. Reminded me of Poyer and Hyde trying to tackle Tyreek on the 13 seconds game, then I remember Milano was also whiffing on that one. That was 3 years ago. Dude seems better as a 4-3 LB, and Dorian is clearly more explosive. 1 Quote

NickelCity Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Theyre trying to play him into playoff shape. It's not good yet, clearly. If he doesn't get going soon we're going to be seeing a lot more Dorian. Quote
TFBillsfan Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Milano had three tackles and one assisted tackle tonight. As much as I admire him, he’s a liability and I’m really surprised they are giving him 100% of the snaps. Outside of one play, he got abused. I doubt next week is gonna be any better against Detroit. He’s looked slow and out of position far too often. Last week, I could understand with the snow and was hoping we see a step up this week. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Williams right now should be seeing the field over Milano. Until he shows, he’s better. Quote
Nelius Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Need to dive in more but our LB pass coverage was atrocious so I get it. You’d expect more with a healthy Bernard/Milano. It’s almost like we get more splash when some call-up gets minutes Quote
nedboy7 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 (edited) I think after any 2 point loss you have to wonder if a rebuild is in order. Or maybe we need to fire coaches or change the scheme. Luckily this is our rebuild year. So tamper expectations. Edited December 9 by nedboy7 Quote
WinterSoldier17 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I think both of these can be true at the same time. Certainly looked like both was particularly on display today. Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Find somebody other than Dorian to take off the field to get Milano on. We have enough undersized back 7 guys as it is. Dorian might not be the greatest in coverage but least he can take on and shed a blocker. Quote

To expect a 30 year old lb coming off two major injuries to come back and be good was silly. I was told it was only an arm injury so he would be the same player. The likelihood he is washed is extremely high. I can’t speak for everyone but I don’t think people were telling you it wouldn’t take him a few games to get back up to speed I think the likelihood he’s ‘washed’ is pretty low…not impossible though Edited December 9 by Generic_Bills_Fan Quote

Ethan in Cleveland Posted December 9 Posted December 9 He's done. I got flamed for it before but he is a cap casualty this off-season. Sad but injuries destroyed him. His leg injury was catastrophic. All the reports from training camp said he was slow and hesitant. No different than he is now. Williams is the better player now and they need him back in the line-up 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Did anyone think he would jump back in and be the same guy immediately? Didn’t we believe he’d slowly ramp up? The Bills are taking a different approach than they normally do. But we get Milano is washed threads game 2 after his return? Quote
Billsfanatic8989 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I've always thought he was a bit overrated. He's a very good player in a defense that lacks very good players. But I never thought he was this monstrous game changer. 1 Quote
Nihilarian Posted December 9 Posted December 9 It's like the guy is doing training camp and preseason FB all at once...give him time to catch up. What's more concerning is no pass rush on Stafford, no sacks, no INTs and nobody stepped up on defense. The Rams have the 20th ranked O line and this Bills defense was manhandled...sad! Quote
Dr.Sack Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Milano is no longer a starting caliber LB looking at the All 22. I think he’s lost 2 gears. Quote
