FireChans Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Matt didn’t look good last week but conditions were iffy so I waited to discuss this until I saw him in the Rams game. He looks very slow and hesitant out there. Now of course, the rest of the defense wasn’t much better so maybe it’s still too early to tell. It’s certainly possible he is just getting back to trusting his leg/knee in game-speed. I hope so, because this defense really needs another high level performer that plays closer to the LOS. What are your thoughts? 1 Quote
Einstein Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I’m not sure, but between him and Hamlin we were playing with 9 guys some plays. Which ironically is the amount of guys we had on the field when we were trying to block that final punt. 3 8 Quote
wppete Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Rusty. Definitely not washed. Will take a few games to get back into it. He's been off for a year and half 9 Quote
thenorthremembers Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I said it in the Dorian Williams post and got flamed. To expect a 30 year old lb coming off two major injuries to come back and be good was silly. I was told it was only an arm injury so he would be the same player. The likelihood he is washed is extremely high. 6 1 1 7 1 3 Quote

BillsFan130 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I'll say rusty as of now. Its been a long time since he's played. Now if it's still like this going into the playoffs, then will be concerning 1 6 Quote

Brandon Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I'm not sure yet, but if the Bills are going to start him, there needs to be some improvement soon. At this stage, I think they'd probably be better off with Dorian Williams out there. 2 6 Quote

What are your thoughts? My fear has always been that he would be like Von last year. Seemed like a brutal leg injury and I tend to think players really need that extra year to bounce back. 1 Quote
colin Posted December 9 Posted December 9 He shouldn't be starting right now, another MCD patented roster decision going with his guy rather than who gives the team the best shot to win 1 1 1 4 Quote
Aussie Joe Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I need to watch this game again … I was trying to keep an eye on the DL mainly … who were very “quiet” most of the game 1 2 Quote
Simon Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I think he doesn't quite trust his reads and decision-making yet and it's making him more hesitant than anything is physically. While he's still better than Williams, they really need to him to find his A-game in the next month. 6 4 Quote

I wouldn't have started him the last 2 games. And depending on how the rest of the year goes, I would cut bait with him in the offseason. 2 Quote
Billzgobowlin Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Calm down. The dude has not played for real in a year and a half 1 1 Quote
Buffalo03 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 It's his second game back after pretty much 2 years of not playing. Let's give him a little bit before calling him washed 2 Quote
JGMcD2 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 You’re the king of starting threads WAY too early. He hasn’t played in 2 years, do you really think 2 weeks is enough of a sample size to make the determination “rusty or washed” ? 🤦🏻 3 3 Quote
ProcessImproverMan Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Definitely looks off. I think we are going to need to draft a linebacker this upcoming draft Quote
Real McClappy Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Dude has been an absolute monster for us when on his game. I'd say rusty overall and getting all the reps now to ball out in the playoffs. 2 1 Quote
