Dr.Sack Posted December 9 Posted December 9 We can’t have the ST errors be the difference. Reid Furgson can’t get walked back 6 yards into the punters lap. I dunno, but I put this on McD, Babich and ST simply blowing it. 1 Quote

Because the Rams were gashing them on Runs. They have to send people for run blitz. Also the front 4 is not getting there, partly becuase McVay use moving pocket to help his O-Line. We all watched the Dolphins at Rams TNF. Nacua, Kupp, Williams, Corum all played. Rams ran a total of 70 yards on that day. We are talking about Dolphins defense there and they had 4 sacks one INT. I really wish we were able to sign Calais Campbell. 1 Quote

I really wish we were able to sign Calais Campbell. they seemed to be in Man from the get go. I don’t think they started in zone and switched. I noticed them in man immediately on the first drive. By the end of this game, they actually held the Rams’ run game in check. I think Williams had like 80 yards but on like 30 carries. The problem was they just couldn’t stop Puca from converting on 3rd down. and they couldn’t get any pressure. I am not sure the dolphins game is a good comp, because I believe the Rams had a lot of missing guys on the oline until recently. Rams are now fully healthy. 1 Quote
L Ron Burgundy Posted December 9 Posted December 9 This thread is 100% what I'm worried about. Our offense can be borderline unstoppable. Unfortunately our defense can make offenses look unstoppable too. 1 Quote
BuffaloRebound Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Of course it will. It’s still an undersized reactive defense. Good QB’s with a physical run game playing playoff football will absolutely gash this defense like the past 5 years. This year will be no different. 1 Quote
goldenboy81 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Prob so. And then Bills only hope is Allen out scores the other offense Quote
Big Blitz Posted December 9 Posted December 9 (edited) 1 Chiefs 2 Bills 3 Steelers 4 Texans 5 Ravens 6 Chargers 7 Broncos Steelers will beat Chargers in Round 1 Ravens beat Houston. Ravens win at KC. So the path is: Broncos Steelers Home vs Ravens Edited December 9 by Big Blitz 1 Quote
Dr.Sack Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Milano at age 30 is clearly better than the younger faster higher twitch Dorian. Rasul at age 30 way better at man than Elam. I know it baby. 2 Quote
MiracleAtRich1393 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 It most certainly will. The main question is: when it does, can Josh put up 50 for us? Time will tell! Quote

Dr.Sack Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Is it time to consider Douglas age 30, Milano age 30, and Taron age 28 are washed? If so who do we draft to replace them because Dorian & Elam both being 23 clearly aren’t trusted by McDermott. Quote
Mikie2times Posted December 9 Posted December 9 3 hours ago, PoundingDog said: You can talk about the end of the game strategy or what not. But the big question is the defensive performance. And unlike the 2 game losing streak earlier in the season, we are at full strength on D now. I don't know how great your offense can perform. But getting an opponent offense to punt once (I don't count the last one) without getting any turnovers is not a formula to win. Probably it goes back to the point of no elite talent on D to make a play from time to time when needed. We can get all 11 guys on D to play well to stop most teams but when there are offfensive guys play above the scheme, we have no one to do the same to them on D. No reason to think vs better teams with our history so far Quote
Bookie Man Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Desperately need a disruptor on the DL. Since Ed got paid, he's been invisible. AJE shows up once every 5 games. Can't get any heat with our front 4. 1 Quote
Brand J Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Bills defense needs BIGGER guys AND more SPEED. Undersized and slow isn’t a winning formula. Quote
Billsfanatic8989 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 (edited) If your a defensive HC and your defense keeps losing you playoff games...that's a terrible look. I appreciate Hamlin's story. It's inspirational. But he should not be starting on defense for any team with SB aspirations. And stop keeping younger players on the bench who played well. Just because experienced old guys are back. 3 minutes ago, Brand J said: Bills defense needs BIGGER guys AND more SPEED. Undersized and slow isn’t a winning formula. Younger guys too. Time to move on from Miller & Milano. One is fried. The other is injury prone. Edited December 9 by Billsfanatic8989 1 Quote

Bills Defense needs a gamewrecker, but we never draft high enough to get one… so we either need to get lucky, or McDermott needs to figure out how to make due without a Chris Jones. If the Defense pulls this again in the playoffs, I don’t know how you pay anyone on that side of the ball except Rousseau and maybe Bernard. Extend Cooper and Shakir, bring back Hollins and Ty.. Offense is set.. and then draft replacements for a bunch of guys on Defense next year. Quote

He had a bad game, it happens. I scoff at the idea of paying him $25M/yr though. Too rich for what he brings game after game in my opinion. Anything above an $18M AAV and I let him sign with someone else, draft his replacement. 1 Quote

dma0034 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Well no team in the AFC has the elite WRs to match what the Rams just did except maybe the Bengals. While there is plenty of blame to go around let's not forget that Nacua and Kupp both made a couple circus catches. Stafford didn't throw his usual once a game lame duck interception. In order for the Rams to beat the Bills: Their Offense had to play their best game in years, shotty officiating, Allen missing a couple wide open throws and questionable decision making from the coaches. That was just to win by 2. If the Bills make it to the Superbowl this year it will because of their unstoppable offense rather than the crappy McDermott Defense we always see 1 Quote
