PoundingDog Posted December 9 Posted December 9 You can talk about the end of the game strategy or what not. But the big question is the defensive performance. And unlike the 2 game losing streak earlier in the season, we are at full strength on D now. I don't know how great your offense can perform. But getting an opponent offense to punt once (I don't count the last one) without getting any turnovers is not a formula to win. Probably it goes back to the point of no elite talent on D to make a play from time to time when needed. We can get all 11 guys on D to play well to stop most teams but when there are offfensive guys play above the scheme, we have no one to do the same to them on D. 1 2 Quote
Boatdrinks Posted December 9 Posted December 9 It might. They have games like this a few times a year. This is not a dominating defense. It’s a good defense that plays better with a lead. The offense didn’t get going for awhile , and that tends to be when the Bills have this type of game. 3 Quote

Brandon Posted December 9 Posted December 9 They've given up 33.5 points per game in their last four playoff losses. Yeah, it's a concern. 3 4 3 Quote

ProcessImproverMan Posted December 9 Posted December 9 (edited) Depends who we play. Gotta hope Ravens get knocked out before they play us, Bengals don't sneak in and Chiefs don't get right. Chargers, Steelers, Colts, Broncos offenses don't scare me. Edited December 9 by ProcessImproverMan Quote

CincyBillsFan Posted December 9 Posted December 9 The answer is absolutely it will show up as it has in every year the Bills have been in the playoffs in the Allen era. By my count there has only been ONE elite defensive playoff performance by the Bills since 2019 and that was against Baltimore. Quote

And the Detroit defense has to be very concerned about what they're about to face in the Bills offense - it works both ways. 1 3 Quote

Chugga Posted December 9 Posted December 9 For 5 years now our defense has felt very much like the defensive version of the Miami Dolphins. If we play an average or below average team we pad our stats and look very strong as a unit. But when we get lined up against a legit team, the flaws in our system get exposed. Our bend but don’t break system works great against QBs who are impatient or just bad. Unfortunately all of those QBs are eliminated after the first round of the playoffs. And you know what happens…. 6 1 3 Quote

If we don't get turnovers, we basically don't win on D. The degree of difficulty we for e the opponents to operate at is just too low for well coached teams w good QB play. Quote
