At this point we may need the Bills to hire a Brown or Steeler to wear metal cleats and try and spike Mahomes; granted I honestly believe at this point Mahomes could be sniped and would regenerate his wound like a ***** Terminator. So even that probably wouldn't work.

Forgive him, he substituted his head for the football and table for the goalpost to reenact the end to this game.

Done deal. 10-2 was fun for 7 days.

Maybe they do a Buffalo? Come out flat on defense because of the division champs hats, t-shirt and confetti?

It’s all fun and games until the final two weeks of the season mean next to nothing for anyone on the AFC side and ratings drop off a cliff until the playoffs.

And it's not necessarily because they are that much better than anyone else. I just think they are smarter. More experienced.

That's exactly right. They don't need to be more talented than their opponent because they'll play better situational football than their opponent. So as long as they are within one score in the final two minutes that means they will win 100% of the time. The only game they lost this year was because they were down by two scores in the final two minutes.

Harbaugh screwed up big time thinking he could stop them from executing a final drive that was all about situational football. If he had instructed his defense to let them score he would have pulled the rug out from underneath them and at least given his team a chance to win. Instead he went with his ego that told him he could just beat the Chiefs straight up. Andy Reid doesn't have that kind of ego. He just has his team do whatever gives them the highest probability of winning the game on every play.

If we win the Battle of Lake Erie and Cleveland does their part against KC, the tides will feel like they’ve turned.

Hard to see either happening but would be nice.

Every opposing HC goes braindead against them too. Every single time. Without fail.

The only way to beat them is by not making dumb coaching decisions.

Odds of both happening are slim to none.

Tony Romo of all people said it exactly right after we beat them - when you play the Chiefs you have to go win it yourself. So many coaches like Harbaugh tonight are playing for the Chiefs to lose instead of playing for their team to win. Like I said it's probably an ego thing. "Sure all those other coaches failed in these situations, but I'M Jim Harbaugh! I can do anything." No. You can't. Do the counterintuitive thing and give up the TD for free and then your offense has 2 minutes to go take the win for themselves.

that ends the 1 seed imo and makes the lions game irrelevant.

all that matters for the bills is winning the final 3 to get to 10 wins in the conference

Let them score or at the very least let them get down to the 15 or 20 yard line on the first play. Then play normal defense, FG or TD is fine . At least That way you only let them run a minute or two off the clock and you are guaranteed to have the ball last with a chance to win

A few thoughts...

1. Off the upright and in? Surely they are taunting us now?
2. I don't think KC can do this for 3 straight games in the playoffs. They will need to find another gear, or a 3-peat isn't going to happen.
3. Chargers are such a disappointment, as always.

They are such a bizarre franchise.

Three elite QB's in 40 years...one SB appearance.

Fouts, Rivers and Herbert.

Right.

And that one Super Bowl was with the legendary Stan Humphries at QB.

If the Chiefs were the 2 seed, I agree with you. Them being the 2 seed would have meant that they highly likely played hard in every regular season game, including the Week 18 game at Denver, in desperate pursuit of the 1-seed, only to come up short. Then they'd likely play either the Broncos or Chargers in the Wild Card round (not easy), followed by the Ravens or Steelers, followed by a road trip to Buffalo. Then perhaps Detroit or Philly in the Super Bowl. The Chiefs would have less than a 20% chance of winning all four.

But if they're the 1 seed, they've got a very real shot. If the Chiefs win and Bills lose this week, the Chiefs in theory could have the 1-seed wrapped up after Week 16. That would enable them to rest Weeks 17 and 18 if they desired plus get a 1st-round bye. They wouldn't have to use a single good play in their playbook and would have pretty much have a month to reimagine the operation on both sides of the ball and get as healthy as possible. Part of the Chiefs' playoff success last year on offense I'd assume had a lot to do with Andy unloading the clip - he saves his absolute best plays for the playoffs. Being able to strategically deploy them across two games, both at home, with time off in between, and extra time to prep for possible opponent(s) is way easier than having to play every single week nonstop down the stretch in the regular season and then do it three times in the playoffs to advance to the Super Bowl.

If the Chiefs actually do get the 1-seed they better enjoy it. The Broncos and Chargers are coming for blood starting next year. I don't see many AFC West sweeps in KC's future anytime soon.
