This was all just practice for the playoffs.  McD told the D to not show up, and force Josh to try and win this one all by himself.  This way, Josh is ready for that come playoff time.

This game was lost when all our blitz can’t get past the line of scrimmage. Or the idea that the soft zone was working. The dolphins used a ton of motion and jet plays we were able to stop them. This game we read our own headlines on defense. Now Time to regroup!

The question I have … can they win 4 games in a row in the Playoffs with this D  … against good running teams and offensive minds that can exploit their deficiencies … they have always had good stats during the regular season when they can fatten up on a lot of the bottom feeders

Agreed and not reading much further in this. A lot of problems but in every situation where McDermott could have done the right thing and being better at his job: he failed.

 

We weren't prepared defensively, we shot ourselves in the foot on special teams which is ongoing, and the penalties are just awful.

The game wasn't lost in the last 5 minutes, it was the poor playcalling by Babich and execution in the first 55 that really hurt us.

Sean McDermott is the head coach....

 

I'm not going to overreact and I don't see this happening in the playoffs but it was pretty atrocious on defense at every level including scheme.

 

I want McDermott here for a long time but he can't keep losing these classic Allen games. You can't lose games like this when your QB is transcendent

I hope Milano I comes back to form, but he looks like he won't so far, Oliver is not even jag level, he was off the field for the last drive on d.  Knox and Miller are also huge trash contracts.  Dequan is beyond washed too.

 

The upside is once we be out of these trash contracts we have money for real guys and still have 17

I'd say accepting the holding penalty on 4th down and then wasting a Timeout was much more of a reason for the loss

Clearly McDermott can't handle pressure and never will be able to make big decisions in big spots. It is never going to change.

It was the dumbest thing ever.  They masterfully kept all three up until that moment, then figured out a way to use it.

People can say McD's scheme, Babich is a puppet blah blah.  Babich called a bad game.  He is responsible for the playcalling on D.

Better hope we don’t see the Rams again. This is the exact team which destroys McD’s defense. Vet QB with enough talent left, excellent possession WR’s, and a mastermind offensive coaching staff. They will score 30+ every time.
