Roundybout Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Our players lost individual battles all day long. That’s what killed us. 1 Quote

strive_for_five_guy Posted December 9 Posted December 9 This was all just practice for the playoffs. McD told the D to not show up, and force Josh to try and win this one all by himself. This way, Josh is ready for that come playoff time. 1 3 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted December 9 Posted December 9 OP when does McD get criticism? How many coaches does he need to scapegoat before he is finally held accountable ??? 1 1 Quote

SUNTANBILLS FAN Posted December 9 Posted December 9 This game was lost when all our blitz can’t get past the line of scrimmage. Or the idea that the soft zone was working. The dolphins used a ton of motion and jet plays we were able to stop them. This game we read our own headlines on defense. Now Time to regroup! Quote

You wanna criticize him that he cant win against KC in the playoffs, thats fine. But some of these takes are just garbage. Im already over this game .., The question I have … can they win 4 games in a row in the Playoffs with this D … against good running teams and offensive minds that can exploit their deficiencies … they have always had good stats during the regular season when they can fatten up on a lot of the bottom feeders Quote

Bills would’ve still needed a miracle regardless of what was or wasn’t called at the end. It is what it is, I’m struggling to get too pressed about this one. Agreed and not reading much further in this. A lot of problems but in every situation where McDermott could have done the right thing and being better at his job: he failed. We weren't prepared defensively, we shot ourselves in the foot on special teams which is ongoing, and the penalties are just awful. 1 Quote

VW82 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Does McD know that you can double cover Puka? No? Ok, well he's still a big reason we lost. Quote
Kelly to Allen Posted December 9 Posted December 9 25 minutes ago, Cray51 said: Fans are already piling on McD for his end of game decisions (accepting the penalty with 5 minutes left and the TO after the sneak). I think there is fair criticism to both plays, however those two decisions are NOT why we lost the game. Defense today: 11-15 on third down conversions (was 11-12 with about 5 minutes left in the game 1-1 on fourth down 0 sacks 38:30 time of possession for the Rams 457 total yards allowed The game wasn't lost in the last 5 minutes, it was the poor playcalling by Babich and execution in the first 55 that really hurt us. Sean McDermott is the head coach.... I'm not going to overreact and I don't see this happening in the playoffs but it was pretty atrocious on defense at every level including scheme. I want McDermott here for a long time but he can't keep losing these classic Allen games. You can't lose games like this when your QB is transcendent 1 Quote

Knox and Miller are also huge trash contracts. Dequan is beyond washed too. The upside is once we be out of these trash contracts we have money for real guys and still have 17 Quote

That is just basic knowledge of the game. Clearly McDermott can't handle pressure and never will be able to make big decisions in big spots. It is never going to change. It was the dumbest thing ever. They masterfully kept all three up until that moment, then figured out a way to use it. 1 1 1 Quote

NoSaint Posted December 9 Posted December 9 16 minutes ago, Cray51 said: Babich called a poor game and the team didnt execute. Against the Chiefs Babich implemented plenty of man coverage and it helped. Tonight, he played wayyy too much off man zone, allowing the screen and jet sweep game to work, and then sat back in zone on 3rd down and let Stafford pick them apart. People can say McD's scheme, Babich is a puppet blah blah. Babich called a bad game. He is responsible for the playcalling on D. I’ll buy this to a point. somewhere in there the defensive head coach could maybe say “hey, maybe try a little tweak here” Quote

atlbillsfan1975 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Better hope we don’t see the Rams again. This is the exact team which destroys McD’s defense. Vet QB with enough talent left, excellent possession WR’s, and a mastermind offensive coaching staff. They will score 30+ every time. Quote
