It's very uncomfortable living in the space where we have had the best quarterback for several seasons now and so little to show for it.

 

that's why you see so many excuses about injuries, bad luck, execution errors etc...anything to keep at bay the uncomfortable reality that the guy in charge of the team from top to bottom is not up to the task.

After listening to McDs presser all I can say is the best play isn’t always the smart play. He keeps saying how they beat us at the line of scrimmage, so why the QB sneak? Even earlier in the game on I think the first run TD, they got stuffed and the sneak and had to do it again to get the TD. But basically, keeping the 3 timeouts to keep Rams from running time should have been #1 priority. Rather you be in control of the clock then them. And then 9 guys on the punt return. For a coach that demands detail how does this ***** keep happening? 
 

Also didn’t like how he threw shade at the O for starting slow, then  went out of the way to say they stopped them on 3rd down on first drive if it wasn’t for penalty.  His D gave up 17 points on 3 long time consuming drives to start the game.

Anyone downplaying the Rams offense is being disingenuous. 
 

They haven’t been healthy all season.  Now they are, and Stafford was on a heater. 
 

Problem is, we’ve seen this song and dance before… elite QB and an offense that can run and pass, so our defense provides zero resistance.  

 

Combine that with a McDermott disasterclass at the end of the game and some random embarrassing fact like 9 men on the field for the final play as Josh Allen plays Superman and it’s Playoffs come early in narrative.

Fortunately there isn't an elite QB with an offense that can run and pass except the bills lol

 

Goff isn't elite and the ravens never can throw when it matters.. the Chiefs can't really run and I doubt we see the Rams

That Monday night game against Miami they had all those guys healthy and scored 15 points- And on top of it Miami was missing how many starters on defence, like 4?

The defensive performance and allowing 44 points is certainly something the coaches should be criticized for. I'm with you on that. The end of the game sequences, when the game was basically already lost unless a miracle happened, is what is being overreacted to. That's what this thread is about.

Yes, this game was lost by the D line, not coaching.  the coaches need to find a way to overcome their weakness.  it might not be possible.

My opinion but I'd say more specifically our DT's are making zero plays.  The ends have to worry about rb's inside and jet sweeps outside plus try to get to the QB.  Our DT's seem incapable of beating the guy in front of them and dropping a rb or getting to the QB.  I said it before we got over 15 sacks from our DT's last year this year we have 4 so far.

I can answer what Benford did well tonight, despite the defenses poor performance. 
 

I can answer what Josh did well tonight.

 

Or Shakir. Or Mack freaking Hollins.

And despite the DL going MIA again (‘sup, Beane) if McDermott didn’t crap himself (again), the Bills are kicking off, down 3, with 1:40 left and 3 timeouts 

 

the question of why the Bills played a soft zone for much of the game is also one for the coaches

Just FYI, entering this week, the Rams were 20th in points scored.

He clapped so hard his hands became bruised.

 

McDermott had to ice his hands down after the game !
