245-1 (Sean “Eberflus” McDermott)

Okay, then we can hire Matt Nagy and enjoy going 6-11 over and over until Josh quits.

I have no idea what point you’re trying to make.

This impassioned defense of McD feels very hollow.

What do you think he did well tonight?

Lead the team to battle back from a 17-point defect to hang with a high scoring offense? Would you have preferred they rolled over and died?

It could be that the Rams exposed what good coaching has covered up all year: that the the Bills defensive personnel just isn't very good. Rapp, Rousseau, Bernard, and Benford are excellent, but the others are average or mediocre (Milano could improve dramatically). In other words, Babich might not be the culprit; in fact, he might be the only thing holding the defense together.

I'm not defending McDermott, though. When the team needs him most, he lets them down. If they win it all, it will be despite his game management, not because of it.

For the love of God can we please stop. How many damn resources does it take.

Hey, a 7 game win streak was nothing to sneeze at: probably second or third best in franchise history.

I'm right there with you.

Long gone are the days of celebrating wrapping up a division title with over a month left...

Anticipating getting healthier on the back end of the season into the playoffs...

Not having a season like the Bengals...

We will forever be in a loophole of finding a new demon to exorcise after any loss.

I just don't know if there will be too many positive discussions going forward despite anything that happens unless we make it to the Superbowl.

I just hate it because I enjoy coming to this board and still have very high expectations of what could be but I don't believe that will be the consensus

Well, as we saw tonight, more than they have. That is, if your special teams and head coach aren't pulling their weight.

What did he do, specifically, to lead the team to battle back against a high scoring offense?

Just FYI, entering this week, the Rams were 20th in points scored.

Accepting the penalty was an absolutely brain-dead decision.  Let them kick the field goal of death and give Josh the ball back down 6 with time and all 3 timeouts to win it.  You know, Josh?  That guy we keep saying is the best QB in the world?  Why are we keeping the ball out of his hands and trusting our defense that's gotten absolutely torched all game???

Josh getting 11 plus wins and division titles is what is keeping McDermott with a job unfortunately.  There is a reason Andy Reid fired him in Philly.

Just to clarify when players like Josh do good things it’s only about the player, but when players like on our D line do bad things it’s only about McD?

All I know is that the day ftvD we get mated all game wasn’t working.  Run on all night and gave up too many 3rd downs.  We all could see what was going on.

play Baltimore in aground and we are done. It’s obvious what the roadmap is

embarrassing Defense tonight.

Give a speech, rally the troops, who cares?

If the loss is McD’s fault, doesn’t it carry that the team coming back is also on him?

Take off the hate goggles, it’s just sad

I certainly didn't like what I saw on defense either but we were playing a very different Rams team (healthy Kupp and Nacua) than a lot of the earlier teams faced.

You seem to indicate the players screwing up on the field isn’t on McD. Not enough players on the field for the punt return isn’t on McD.

so what is on McD? Josh breaking 2 tackles to get a first down? Josh throwing a missile to Shakir who broke 3 tackles for a 50 yard TD? Mack Hollins making a contested back shoulder catch?

Was that because of McD?

Nope. Those are on the individual players to execute.

So when offensive guys make great plays it’s on them, but when D linemen get shoved around all day that the HC’s fault?

Okay.

Being unable to answer a single thing that McDermott did well tonight is such an incredible self-own. Can’t make this stuff up.

It wasn't that bad. Fans are overreacting big time. But what else is new? Every win and fans are chanting "Super Bowl!" and every loss the fans are chanting "Fire McDermott!"

Accepting the penalty on the Rams drive.

Then, calling TIME OUT.  Could have rushed to the line there & still been able to stop the clock.  That ended the game.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.

I've said this for 8 years. McDermott's strength is NOT game day management. We saw that in 13s and countless other games.  He rely on Josh to just take over. He should be ashamed over today's defensive effort.  I knew Nacua would destroy our zone.
