I dont agree, you needed those three timeouts for after that drive, it is kind of elementary.  I love McDermott though, I am not firing him.  The defense was the problem today, it was not Mcdermott's fault they lost.

Our just throw 4 times there. Kick the ball deep with 3 Time outs and hope the D could actually make a stop maybe? I'm not so pissed about accepting the Holding call.

Yes! If you have to run, do it on 4th down. They did such a good job saving all 3 timeouts and then ***** it up with 1st and 10 from the 1??? So, so dumb. I'd be pissed if I was an offensive player.

Yea, its typical of fans to blame coaches when things go badly. Sometimes players just get whipped sometimes and they sure got whipped today. When I was a young HS coach, a veteran coach once told me the whole town used to think we were geniuses when we were winning titles year in and year out and now they think we're a bunch of dumbasses because we have a losing program. We have literally taught the same stuff year in and year out the only thing that changes are the players. Not entirely the same here but the truth is fans are always looking for someone to blame and the coaches are an easy target.

On the Rams last TD we had an all out blitz and they threw the ball outside to their best WR who had two blockers versus our two safeties/CB's.  That's on coaching.

Even if you are 100% sure the QB will score? Bills must have thought so. And if you believe it its the most efficient time wise.

I mean if I know I'm gonna score obviously I'm gonna do it

But for the sake of what I am assuming you're asking, not on first or second down. It's too risky when you have downs to play with that will likely take off less than 10 seconds total

I also doubt QB sneak was the play call, guessing they gave Allen an option to change/take a chance if he felt it

What side of the ball is McD’s speciality? Who hired the coordinator to run that D that you’re admitting was a problem? Who is the Head Coach that has the power to change or take over anything he doesn’t like during a game? Or a season?

Look.....here's the thing.  I am really pissed off about how this game went down.  I hate that McDermott and the defense literally blew up an all time career performance by their superhuman QB and that he can't enjoy it.

What does it mean in the long run?  You can probably kiss the 1 seed goodbye, especially if the Chiefs beat the Chargers.  Throw on top of that, we are about to go back on the road and play the hottest team in the league next week with a pretty comparable offense that has been way better all season than what we just played tonight.  That doesn't breed a ton of excitement or confidence heading into next week and the playoffs.

Until this team finds a way to stop getting gashed in the run game, and finds the willingness to change up your defensive plan when what you're running isn't working, we aren't going to win anything.  McDermott has 4 weeks to find a way to adapt and fix things.  As much as he doesn't want to do it, or flat out refuses to do it, he has to explore fundamental changes to this defensive scheme.  This light box, soft zone, crap will never shut down the good offenses in the post season.  It never has and it never will.  Allen is the best player on the planet, but even he, with 400+ yards and 6 freaking TDs can't bail out the ineptness of the coaching staff.

It should have been explicitly clear and previously coached as well as told to Josh as foresight to tell in the huddle. If we don't get in on the goal line first down we spoke the ball immediately.

In this situation this should have been 100% told.

Yeah, that one was really bad. Just really bad defense throughout. Felt like the Bengals game.

Seems like the crowd is back to fire McDermott.

Always happens when we don't blow a team out by an average of 13.5ppg, lol.

God save my heart if we actually make it to a Super Bowl.

The GM of the Buffalo Sabres who after maybe the worst lost in franchise history held a press conference this week where he claimed that a big part of the problem with the team was that nobody wanted to play here because:

1. Palm trees

2. NYS taxes

3. The team keeps losing.

Do you know if he has an opinion on the HC who keeps losing because he hasn't learned the value of leaving time for your HoF QB to make a play after losing a game in 13 seconds?

I don't mind accepting that penalty at all.  The defense had to make a play at some point.

The thing that bothers me is the wasted timeout at the goalie line.  That might have cost them another chance.

Also why didn't condrington grab that punt?

To me thats great coaching on the Rams sideline and/or Stafford checking on that play. They caught the Bills in what they were trying to do and exploited it. If you want to say that was the wrong move than I get it but we don't know what happens if we drop into zone there either.

1. Declining the penalty on 3rd and 7 was clearly the correct move YOU NEED A TD TD WIN NO MATTER WHAT. Would have been 4th and 7 vs 4th and 5. Would they have kicked the FG with 7 yards needed instead of 5? Who knows., but the decision was wrong regardless.

and somehow this next one is  10000x worse.

2. You can not, under any circumstance. call a TO after the  QB sneak. Sneaking it is dumb, but if you are going to do it you tell the guys if they stop it you hurry up, spend 10 seconds getting back to the line, and run it again. The second Sean called TO the game was over.

Josh Allen is the best player in the league

Then, calling TIME OUT.  Could have rushed to the line there & still been able to stop the clock.  That ended the game.  Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Of course don't forget running a QB sneak at the goal line on first down when not making it drastically reduces your chances to win and the rest of the playbook is open to you. They continue to do this stuff year after year in games that aren't even that critical. Will folks act surprised when they do it again int he playoffs?

I won't.
