Maybe it's time to stop caring so much that the clapping buffoon built a locker room that has dinner together. 42 points , an MVP locking performance from your QB, and you lose. Awful.

This will go over like a fart in church but I just realized the drive with the blocked punt was the drive Josh missed Hollins on the deep ball.  Allen hits Hollins it's 14 to 10 good guys and the blocked punt never happens.  Just sayin ..........

the rams easily could’ve been running out clock on themselves with that decision.

Agreed… they may have still went for it… but I would have forced that decision on them at 4th and 7.  If you’re lucky they feel that’s too much and go for the long FG. ..which I’m sure they would have gotten give the way the game was going!   But I would take Allen needing 6 in that situation all day, given how he was playing.  
 

Conversely, you give them 2 plays to get a first down, by backing them up.  We hadn’t  stopped them all day. At the time I was thinking no way I give stafford and those guys 2 more tries!   No way.    
 

I’m not second guessing McD… at the time in the game.. I was hoping he would decline it.    
 

Also… I’m not saying McD needs to be fired… BUT I will say they need to seriously think about this defensive game plan and do something different in the playoffs.  That’s all.  This game was all too reminiscent of the defense that has gotten us booted in the divisional round every year!

Well, considering we weren’t punting, we had 9 players on the field not including the punter.

Man, just thinking more about this game, it was wildly entertaining with high execution on both sides.
 

I am truly only “mad” about the punt block. Everything else was just superb offensive football by all the play makers on both sides.
 

it’s probably truly the most entertaining game of the season in the NFL.

Classic letdown spot. Coming off a big win on SNF, traveling West and having a pretty big game next week.

This defense is not built to play from behind, chase teams that get up on us early, can keep moving the chains, keep running the ball, and control TOP, and score to keep the game out of reach.

 

Just letting teams run the ball down our throats early in games is not going to cut it.

 

The defensive scheme needs to get more early stops and know teams are going to run on them, the book is out on this D.

 

The offense needs to execute better in the first half of games rather than waking up late when we are in a hole.

 

Yes to all of this and while we are at it could we get some pressure on the QB.  Some how some way get someone in the QB's face fast like a safety of the edge.  Guys like Stafford with Kupp and Nacua are going to play pitch and catch with our rush 4 and play zone coverage no matter how tricky we think we are.

We will NEVER win a SB under McDermott. The man is a deer in the headlights when it's squeaky bum time. Situational awareness zero. And Pegula gave him a raise??

Lions 2 1/2-point favorites next Sunday.  Seems low.  Lions defense is a mess, so maybe that is it.

McD's defensive coverages are predictable when an offense employs enough motion pre- and post-snap while also holding onto the threat of the run. His defenses can be forced into backing off just enough by simple motions that out-leverage them. They can be made to be vanilla by teams dedicated to balance and disguise.

because we’ve invested HEAVILY in the defense with draft picks over the last 7 years and have little to show for it against competent NFL offenses.

 

Get Josh more weapons with the premium draft picks.

How does that ‘force the decision’ any differently than it was forced on 4th and 5 though haha I just don’t get the criticism at all.  They netted 2 yards but were forced to make an extra play to avoid coming away with absolutely nothing.  incomplete pass,sack, small gain, etc and you have 0 scoring/drive extending options
