Blank Stare Posted December 9 Posted December 9 3 minutes ago, PauleeeWalnuts said: McD not only can’t admit he blew the timeout during his presser, but he also said there wasn’t enough players on the field to run a punt block at the end. What the hell is going on with this coaching staff and lack of communication? Smiley. One of the worst STCs in the league. I’d easily take Farwell or Crossman back and I didn’t care much for either of them either. We have at least one game a year with stupid special teams blunders, particularly in the punt game, that cost us big. 2 Quote
ControllerOfPlanetX Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Well, in two weeks, we play a crappy team…things will be back to normal (or rose colored glasses) after we beat them. 1 Quote

There was a TE at the end of the line that kind of looked like he was going to run a route initially. That might also explain the confusion on what to do after it failed. Allen said he didn't check into it. Quote
Dan Posted December 9 Posted December 9 (edited) 41 minutes ago, appoo said: The blocked punt was obviously massive and the TO egregiously bad. But that was after the Bills had given up 44 points and forced what, 1 punt? For me, the most egregious call was accepting the penalty at the end of the game. I would’ve forced fourth and long sooner and either had them try it or kicked the long field goal and go up by six. Either way we have more time on the clock. Plus with the way those receivers were playing I had no confidence we would stop them. Edited December 9 by Dan 1 Quote

zow2 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I am at the stage where the Bills losses (even when playoffs are clinched) are so much more painful than the wins are enjoyable. That’s not good. I’m going to rationalize by saying this loss today will allow them to fix some things that are broken. It’s a reset. Now they can start a winning streak to get us where they want to go. 1 1 Quote

Anytime you give up 44 points it has far more to do with the players getting beat constantly than coaching. So the defense isn’t good enough to wi games? Truth is we have to many weak links - Von miller is a waste of money 1 Quote

Why is it all down to McDermott’s timeout I think people are saying he got two things wrong in a row but the accepting the hold felt like a great call to me tbh the sneak was definitely a mess and I think they had to go into it saying sneak twice without using a timeout if you get stopped…def a mess up but it felt like a pretty specific situation to me that I don’t think will repeat granted maybe the sneak doesn’t work the second time if we weren’t coming out of a timeout who knows Edited December 9 by Generic_Bills_Fan Quote

Yeah his nose is at full mast already, if KC wins another walkoff he might sneeze a hole in his siding. 2 Quote

Carmel Corn Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Our secondary got torched today by a couple great receivers and a QB having a good game. That said, the reason they got torched is because our front 6 were a complete failure at both stopping the run and pressuring the QB. Our front 4 especially are weak….not good enough to win a championship. 2 1 Quote

That blocked punt for a td after a missed opportunity in a wide open td- was just brutal Josh makes a better throw, that is a TD for us and then no punt to be blocked, then the game is a W and not an L Ball was thrown too much in the middle which gave the safety the opportunity to knock it away Was at the game and thought for sure was going to be a TD 1 Quote
RiotAct Posted December 9 Posted December 9 pretty insane that our defense gave up 5 LESS points than the Rams’ defense. If Allen doesn’t win MVP this season it’s a travesty. 1 1 Quote
BillsFan130 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Watching the Chiefs game- this is how you play defence. Stop the run, play man coverage, send pressure on the QB. Not sit on your arse and play soft zone coverage and hope a team makes a mistake while chewing up 7 minute drives 3 2 1 Quote
CincyBillsFan Posted December 9 Posted December 9 I will say this having clinched the division I'm not taking this loss all that hard. It's a non conference game and our chances to lock up the 2nd seed are still very good even if we lose to Detroit nest week. The offense showed that they can be lethal and we'll be getting 2 more key pieces back soon. I also trust that McD will fix the issues with the D and they will play better going forward. For now I'm viewing this defensive performance as a one off resembling the inexplicable offensive melt down we had against Jacksonville a few years ago. 1 Quote
