Yep, if nothing else you waste 45 seconds of the clock. Just a stupid decision.

Decent shot you hold them to no points and very little shot they convert the third and long.  I think that was a great call tbh.  Feel free to flame away about the sneak though I have nothing good to say about that lol

they forced a 4th and 5 where they almost undoubtedly win if they stop it and the upside was incomplete pass and a punt on 3rd and long

if the rams got that 4th down play down to a 4th and short or picked up the first on 3rd and very long I think the results then favor some mcd mocking but that wasn’t the case

traded 2 yards for multiple opportunities to drastically improve their win percentage the way it went down

Ok, it's one bad really bad game by the D & McDermott. If KC loses, we're still in contention for the 1 seed.

But if we lose in Detroit, they should just focus on getting healthy. If they win, keep up the hard work, iron out the kinks, and keep practicing plays for the playoffs.

The team has a lot to work on, even those that played all. ST can't allow punts to be blocked, Brady needs to call a better game on the 1st half, and even though Allen played great, even he could work on things (accuracy being the main one).

Obviously, defense sucked all around. But figure out what went wrong, and start prepping for Detroit.

I think we are still a lock for the # 2 seed. Pittsburgh is tied with us but at best they are going 2-2 with that final stretch. I know everyone wants the one seed and I totally get that but I'd rather be healthy. If it means going to Arrowhead to win the AFC we have done that many times and the crowd and moment wont be too big for them.

Refs missed the most crucial play of the game.

4th and 5, obvious false starts that ultimately ate more clock and cost us 4 pts

It also probably cost us Allen's "MVP moment" for this season........ and possibly the #1 seed.

Funny thing is, as far as the MVP goes, his chances had to have improved today, despite the L

The coaching blew it at the end for sure. But dear lord the defense blew it for 60 minutes. It was awful

We have a defensive minded coach that refuses to change things up when they aren’t working. Without Allen McDermott is fired 6 years ago.

To be fair, Reid made those types of blunders routinely for more than a decade before they went on their current run. He WAS that guy who always f’ed it up.

He still makes clock management mistakes. Most coaches do. It is a lot harder to make those decisions in the split seconds they need to than many realize. Fans are always nitpicking well after these things happen.

End of game mistakes (penalty being accepted, TO after the sneak) pale in comparison to the struggles on third down.  We were WORKED on third down all game.  Rams were 11-12 on 3rd at one point.  Nacua and Kupp made some superstar plays, and stafford threw well all night.  I dont think any team in the AFC has that type of firepower.

Allen played out of his mind - he is the MVP barring a disaster.  His stats just exploded due to this game.  All in all, defense needs to squeeze down on that type of poor play on third down, and Allen needs to continue to use that level headed play he showed today.  This game showed me Allen absolutely has the right mentality this year.

Agree with this. 100 true

I'll start here: this a relatively inconsequential game, but a playoff performance like this should get McDermott fired.

The defense did not play well at all today. That happens. The Bills are a difficult team to beat because Josh Allen is really really talented.

Teams win and lose these competitive games on the margins: the margins in this game were the punt block and 2 instances of bad situational decision-making: taking the hold instead of making the Rams face 4th and 7. And even worse, the bad QB sneak call. McDermott needs to be better than that situationally.

On that last TD to Nacua, they set a pick play to get him open and the other receiver just bear hugged the defender to set a pick. Is that allowed?

I was wondering the same thing. I believe they are allowed to engage the block prior to the catch IF the ball doesnt get thrown past the line of scrimmage.  Hopefully someone can help us confirm

Even though this started out like a meaningless game it kind of had a playoff feel to it later in the game.  If anything hopefully it will be preparation for those playoff moments - need to not get in such a hole to start, make adjustments earlier on D and get some stops - and make good decisions at the end.

The offense played bad early. Sure we put up 42 but Josh started slow and not sure where Ray Davis disappeared to.

The defense played bad all day, so at least they didn't wait until later.

Once again, I don't care if the offense waited to play until the 2nd half, if you score 42 points in a game, you should win it easily.

Another Allen otherworldly performance wasted by idiotic coaching.

This has become a theme and a curse. Allen is so good he'll keep McDermott employed as HC his entire career. He has to be good enough to overcome his own coach

For sure that was holding. But the D had all game to get a stop and they couldn’t rise to the occasion.

Sneak was stupid. Josh said something to coach “dude, why’d we run that?”

it’s just like 10 sec left in a game. You toss a couple balls into the EZ, you don’t run.

we can argue about the final sequence but the truth is the defense was a non factor for 90% of the game  At some point some of these guys should be expected to make some impact plays

Benford did but the refs gave him a penalty for it unlike their DB pulling our guys jersey.

BREAKING: There are several games left in the season

You’re right…2 games back of the Chiefs with 4 to play puts us in the driver seat…👍

Nevermind the fact that you stated the Bills had already clinched home field…LOL
