Pretty universal frustration at what surrounds (and has surrounded Allen) for the past few years today.

From Orlovsky to Brandt to McAfee to Eisen, the entire football world seems completely fed up with games like this happening in Buffalo.

"IF" if happens again in the Playoffs, it's going to be ugly.

On Cowherd's show, his opening monologue was just 5 minutes of railing on how the Bills (organization, coaches)...are completely wasting Josh Allen's career and greatness.  He was borderline angry about it.

Yeah I don't disagree. He made some bad decisions early on. But it's hard to play much better than he did. He needs some help.

I mean, he made some bad decisions and throws in the second half too.  It's hard for almost any other QB to play much better than he did.   But.......not for him.   The last time he played the Rams in LA he was absolutely surgical.   But not as memorable.

Without Kim running the show Pegula is lost. Hoping his daughter takes over soon and realizes the potential. This team to him is just a business proposition.

All of whom said the bills had no chance at being competitive this year I’m sure haha

I think it’s a tad over reactionary but we’ll see.  Idk who in the AFC is really capable of a game like that.  I don’t think even Baltimore could do it.  KC is so weak at tackle that it gives our dline a shot.  Pit maybe?  They don’t look particularly astute at pounding the run either though

Hypothetical if we make the Super Bowl and lose, what do people do with mcd?

Just listened to that and can't believe the stats.

Allen is 4-5 when he puts up 400+ total yards.

Mahomes is 14-2.

Cowherd has oscillated like a cheap fan on whether or not Allen is even a good player. Spare me any of his takes on Josh Allen.

Those who say Josh is being wasted: He didn't get struck by lightning and became what he is. He had to be developed and he had to work really hard and overcome so many obstacles to get to where he is. You can't separate what he is now from what he was. Do we think if he were drafted by the Bears he would be in the exact same situation as he is now? No way!

The same organization that is wasting him developed him but that gets forgotten by alot of Bills fans just like "wrong Josh" take on draft day gets forgotten.

For many years I've wondered how the Pegulas seem to have done well with the Bills and have completely run the Sabres into the ground. Maybe it's as simple as the difference being Josh Allen. Although the Sabres have gotten rid of two of the NHL's top 5 scorers in the last half decade.

Bills seem much more likely to run out second halves leading big than the chiefs so I think this is pretty misleading.  If josh is throwing for 400+ he’s likely trailing.  There’s countless times if we went full throttle on terrible opponents he could go 400+ and win effortlessly

I looked it up and the 5 losses were:

Yesterday

vs Philly in OT

Miami when they played on the surface of the sun

Vikings in OT

TB in OT

So I would say yesterday and against TB were the only two games where they were trailing big.  The Philly, Miami and Vikings games were more back and forth games.

I do agree that they tend to stop trying to beat teams when they get up 2 scores and put the offense on cruise control which is a mentality I will never understand.  You're basically inviting the other team to get back into the game.

I'd also venture to guess a good amount of the wins from Mahomes were when he still had Hill on the team to get those 400+ yards.

This game looked so much like many of our playoff games, where the defense has absolutely no answers and loses the game despite Josh Allen being the best player on the field.

I fear that the McDermott defense is strong against mediocre/flawed QB’s and offenses, but gets absolutely abused by good QB’s with good scheme/playcalling.

He called for McDermott to be fired after the Texans game.

There was a post game interview with either Bernard or Benford, can't remember which one.

Basically said they had a game plan that would have worked but no one was executing correctly.  I don't really know what to make of that honestly but it sounded more like they were playing like the game didn't really matter to them and/or weren't focused.  Call it jet lag or call it bad coaching but it was pretty clear the defense looked like they were 2 steps behind on every play.

This game felt like a different flavor to me but we’ll see what happens.  I think we made some good adjustments but the rams just caught everything and Stafford was throwing dimes all day so it didn’t matter much in the final score

it definitely at the very least started out as your classic giving up a ton of easy plays defense though lol

OK, my take for what it's worth.  I expected this to happen.  I didn't say so before the game because I don't want to be that "Debbie Downer" fan, so y'all can be fairly skeptical.

From the Rams side:
1) The Rams believe they are an elite team that caught some bad luck in 2022 when they had to shut Stafford down, and then in 2023 when they went 7-1 at the end of the season to make the playoffs, and their only loss was OT to the Ravens, then 23-24 loss to the Lions in the playoffs.  They do not have the mindset "OK, we're 6-6, we're out of it.  You better believe that with them only being 2 games out of 1st place in their division, their coaches were hammering home the message that "hey, we are in the thick of this, we won 7 games at the end of the season last year and made the playoffs; the Bills made the playoffs last season by winning out - so Here We Go!!!

2) Their OC of the last 2 years, Mike LaFleur, knows the Bills well through his 2 years as OC of the Jets, during which I might add they beat the Bills with Zack Wilson at QB and one-scored them with Mike White.  Their DC, Chris Shula, is the nephew of former Bills "Senior Offensive Assistant" Mike Shula, who is now at the college level and might "feel some way" about being passed over for Joe Brady as OC.  My point is even though the Bills don't play the Rams that much, in some ways this is like a Division game where there is a lot of knowledge of the Bills scheme and players from the Rams - but it doesn't go both ways.
3) Matt Stafford is playing well right now, and when he's playing well and he's got elite receivers, they can beat anyone.

From the Bills side:

1) The Bills were a Battered and Dinged sale this week.  The Bills were throwing themselves around onto a surface that's hard as concrete.  You get an extra species of bruised up and sore.  [Edit to clarify: I mean because of the '9ers game, frozen astroturf is hard as cement]

2) Party Hats.  Having walloped the 49ers on national TV and clinched the division, the Bills were celebrating.  I expect that the coaches had trouble applying that 24 hr rule this week.

3) Not taking a 6-6 team sufficiently seriously.  I expect the coaches were preaching "they're a really good team, we need to come out physical up front and affect the QB".  I expect the players were hearing "blahblah Ginger blahblah".   Traveling to LA, there may have been a Party Mood on Saturday as well.  Then there's the point that if it were a must-win, perhaps some of the guys who were limited and practicing would have gone.  It's hard to sell that "you need to give it all you got" when the player personnel decisions say "we don't need everyone we got".

4) Bills can't beat a team like this: they can and have, actually.  But they have to give it all they got.   Take it with a grain of salt, I was once told that blocking on the OL starts mentally, all these guys are freak athletes and it's mental attitude that give you the edge.  I expect that's true on the DL as well.

That latter was kind of my take as well.  Bernard, probably, he's the Captain.    1) Extra helping of battered and bruised from the cold game 2) Party Hats stayed on too long this week 3) Not taking a 6-6 team sufficiently seriously 4) Mental strength and focus

No one on earth is talking or complaining about how the rams let up 42 points… interesting

The irony of that does give me a bit of a chuckle lol. It’s now just generally accepted for this week only that Joe Brady’s offense is unstoppable and there’s nothing the rams could’ve done on defense haha

on the flip side though the rams/mcvay/stafford just aren’t getting a lot of credit for playing/coaching out of their minds.  That 4th down call took a ton of guts that’s a sure loss if they don’t convert there and maybe still a loss even if they do and don’t punch it in the end zone

Typical over-reaction.

I think Josh Allen called it correctly a few years back.  He said something like "You win, the players are great, the coaches are brilliant.  You lose, the players suck and they ought to fire all the coaches."

He definitely wants that missed throw to Shakir back…that might’ve been a carbon copy of the later Shakir td if the ball is on target

I’d put money on that’s exactly what he’s talking about with that statement

I remember one series in the first half where sugar high Josh threw 3 bad long balls in a row forcing a punt.  Maybe he was talking about that?
