where are you getting this from? In the cover 1 pre-game podcast, they mentioned the Rams run D wasn’t very good. And I am looking at the 2024 stats, and the Rams look to be bottom 5 in the league in run D (total yards).

Stafford apparently is the best QB in the NFL against zone coverage based on pregame previews.

 

Not sure how the Bills wouldn't have known that and if they did why they insisted on playing zone so much especially when it wasn't working.

And I think I saw that Elam, who apparently is a competent man cover corner, was actually inactive, and when Douglas went down, we had a Ingram trying to cover Kupp/Nacua. Elam has 723 snaps in the league, Ingram has 166.  Elam must really be in McDermott's doghouse.

Defense had a bad game for sure.  Although a few of those catches were played just about as well as they could have been.  Sometimes bend don’t break becomes bend and break.  Too many holes in coverage that the rams took advantage of.

 

Love Milano. Not sure he is where he needs to be right now. Seemed to be just on the outside of plays yesterday. When he came back earlier this year, he was favoring his leg for sure. The additional time off allowed him to rehab that better, but something is a bit off.  A year off can do that.  Dorian does need to be kept ready.

 

Refs were terrible yesterday on both sides. Feel they did let a few false starts go in the Rams that may have stoped a drive.  That’s all we may have needed in the end.

 

Rams played their best game yesterday. As much as I wanted to win, I’m not going to dwell on this loss. Steelers have a very tough schedule moving forward, feel we have the 2nd seed wrapped up.  10-3 is not bad for a team that is “resetting”.

The missed false start on the Rams 4th and 5 was a horrible miss.  That backs them into a 4th and 10 and likely changes the outcome of the game.   And a false start is an easy call!  
 

…unlike the pass interference which they seem to make up to suit their whims.   I won’t even get into those calls.

The rush defense was actually pretty decent yesterday surprisingly the rams just had so many rushing attempts that it seems worse than it was lol

Random thought - I am waiting for the TV ratings to come out. My bet is a that this game will hit some record given that one of the teams was LA and Allen is must-see TV.

I feel like this NFC West division is one of the weirdest divisions to predict and all the teams in that division play with extreme variability.

 

we caught the Rams at their absolute best. Won’t surprise me to see them lay a total Egg on Thursday.

Season didn’t end, but these have been McDs problems and if he can’t fix them we are always gonna have a problem

If you slowly work him in I don’t think he’s at 100% for the playoffs which id argue is more important than the somewhat slim chance we chase kc down for the 1 seed

This game really confirmed to me how stubborn McDermott and Babich are in their defensive strategy .

Weaver from Miami literally gave them the blueprint a few weeks ago on how to stop the rams by sending pressure and playing a lot of man.

And bills literally did the opposite of that.

 

Sat in their soft zone coverage for the majority of the time, and then when they did blitz? it was so predictable and obvious as stafford/Mcvay were a step ahead of them

What have been?  Seemed like we tried a lot of different things on the defensive side throughout that one but Stafford played so well that nothing worked.  This didn’t feel like your classic let them run the ball/get dinked and dunked all the way down to the red zone type game to me at all personally 

 

belichick is one of the best defensive coaches of all time and threw everything he could think of at us and Allen still had a perfect offensive performance against him in the playoffs…sometimes you’ve just gotta tip your cap and move on

As long as this is a venting pile-it-on Monday, what about the Bills safety play?

Think we got spoiled by Hyde and Poyer in their prime. They seemed to sense where the ball was going and quite frequently be there to assist in a pass breakup or timely interception.  The current safeties seem to be more reactive than pro-active...always just a bit out of position.

Not sure what Hamlin was doing on the long ball..the Bills play a 2 deep zone intentionally to keep everything in front of them, but somehow the receiver got by him anyway.
