That was a bad loss. Offense, including Josh didn’t play particularly well in the first half which got us behind. And the defense was atrocious. Literally only got one stop all game which wasn’t enough. 
 

the worst part is we couldn’t even get a single dip during the middle 8. 
 

Going into this game the rams had one of the worst special teams in the league, and we gave up a big return and a blocked punt for a Td. They were also one of the worst on third down conversions and they converted 11 of 15. 
 

gotta hand it to the rams. They played an excellent game offensively and one the special teams phase of the game. The great Doug Marrone once said if you win two phases of a game, you should win overall. That played out today. 
 

1 seed got that much further away. And now we are gonna be fighting for the 2 seed.

D has to learn from this game..  hopefully McD too though I doubt it... Milano not up to speed yet... especially against the Rams

Horrible clock management by McDermott. That timeout was pretty bad

 

The fact that they called Dawkins on our last drive before the o was set makes it even more horrible.

 

Clear false start, getting back to block giving him an advantage, and cupp commiting offensive pass interference and holding all on the one play for the game sealing TD.  

 

I know they let a lot of crap go, and both ways, but every single one of those fouls on that game winning TD decidedly impacted the play.

 

D was horrible, MCD couldn't figure out to play man with a bear type front until too late, a couple play calls on O maybe could a been better but otherwise an all time game

 

Question to the smart: was the play on the punt block illegal?  Also, they shifted everyone on that block, they saw something on film to exploit.  More coaching blunders.

 

Sucks to lose that game, but it was a barn burner

Nah, epic fail on the part of the entire defense. You score 42 points you should win going away.

 

They acted like the Rams were trh greatest show on turf version and they are not even close to that.

 

Just putrid and that isn't on the coaches. At some point your defensive players have to have some f***ing pride and make a goddamn play.

 

You give up 44 points, players had plenty of opportunities to make a play and none of them did all day.

The good news is i highly doubt the bills face a qb performance like that possibly the rest of the season. Stafford was beyond perfect today. And little things just fell the rams way the entire game and got calls and no calls when it mattered most. Just went the rams way today

Really not a fan of our defensive scheme.  It’s designed to allow ball movement, it’s not aggressive enough.

A 100% agree with you. But there’s others that lean into 1 play or 1 decision. Today was a weird one where we had a unit, a play, and a coaching decision.

 

My quick $0.02 on the late QB sneak was that it was a major Brady gaffe. The unit went out there, and the only way to over ride it was going to be calling a time out so you more or less have to run the play.

What worries me the most is how this team makes the dumbest decisions when the games are close like this. McDermott declined the penalty and ran the ball when he should have passed it. Reid doesn’t make those mistakes…this is what is preventing us from getting over the hump…we played great, but these decisions emphasized that nothing has really changed. McDermott is who he is.

They could have run the 2nd sneak and ended up with time. The time out was what lost the game. Maybe McDermott is hiring. You'll fit right in.

Ok, it's one bad really bad game by the D & McDermott. If KC loses, we're still in contention for the 1 seed. 

 

But if we lose in Detroit, they should just focus on getting healthy. If they win, keep up the hard work, iron out the kinks, and keep practicing plays for the playoffs.

 

The team has a lot to work on, even those that played well. ST can't allow punts to be blocked, Brady needs to call a better game on the 1st half, and even though Allen played great, even he could work on things (accuracy being the main one).

 

Obviously, defense sucked all around. But figure out what went wrong, and start prepping for Detroit.

We have an all-world QB, and lose this game on a special teams blocking error.  Kinda Billsy for sure.
