Just in Atlanta Posted December 7 Posted December 7 When he first started in broadcasting, he was rough, but he quickly grew into one of the better ones on ESPN. Really enjoy watching him. 2 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted December 13 Posted December 13 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/nfl/article-14191607/Randy-Moss-cancer-Minnesota-Vikings.html He has cancer and had a biliary stent placed earlier this month. Three most likely possibilities: Metastatic colon cancer Pancreatic cancer Primary hepatic cancer Sadly none of these are very good. Hepatic probably has the best prognosis and seems to respond to some of the new immunotherapies. So sad. Too young!! 9 Quote

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Man, this is terrible. my friend’s wife had pancreatic cancer and had the whipple surgery. It Gave her about an extra solid year of being cancer free before it returned and took her life, unfortunately. 1 Quote
SinceThe70s Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Just saw this quote from him and it home. An unfortunate reminder of our fragility. "I didn't think I would ever be in a position like this, as healthy as I thought I was," Moss said. 2 1 1 Quote

This hit me in the heart. Get better Randy! 🙏 My dad got diagnosed at basically the same exact age with I think the same cancer what I think would have been him being diagnosed 20 years ago this past August. Felt fine until he got jaundiced and felt really tired...he got tested and for a second they thought it was just a clogged bile duct, but then they did the actual conclusive test and it very much wasn't. He got chemo and was in a clinical trial for some immuno therapy...didn't get the surgery (it wouldn't have helped)...they had given him months, but with the immunotherapy he made it over a year and half...but yeah, basically same age of diagnosis and bile duct cancer as well. Bigger reason I'm sharing is that immunotherapy has come incredibly far since then...I often think of what would have happened if it was now instead of then...also think a lot about the fact I'm 40 now, and in seven years I'll be the same age when he got diagnosed Quote
DCofNC Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Hopefully, they caught it early enough to save him. That’s brutal, hope he comes out ok. 1 Quote

chongli Posted December 14 Posted December 14 Appreciate the good medical insight here from people like @Mr. WEO and @Ethan in Cleveland, among others I forgot. (I recall @Beck Water had some good info also on various medical things in previous years.) Thoughts go out to Randy. 🙏🏻 1 Quote
