Belichick interviewed for the U of North Carolina head coaching job

He is letting the bengals owner know he is out there for the job when they fire Zac. 
 

imagine Bill walking into a line up with a stud QB , WR and a playmaker on D. He can deal with a cheap owner but having the QB WR set is what he needs since he’s terrible at finding those after Brady.

Actually I can see why he might consider this. Possible 5 year gig, lots of control of the program. Good chance he might win a National Championship to add to his legacy. Fairly nice weather not a bad state live in, taxes, etc. Probably less stress then coaching in the NFL.

Belichick would never in a million years work for Mike Brown. But it's all a moot point because there is no way that Mike Brown will fire Zac Taylor before the conclusion of the 2026 season. He won't pay someone NOT to work. Mike Brown only wants to win in so far as the team is good enough to fill the stadium. He won't spend any more money beyond that point. They are also a "cash to the cap" team. Joe Burrow notwithstanding, the Bengals job is one of the worst in the league.

I doubt he would take that kind of thing.

 

He would have been my 1st choice this offseason if McDermott had a bad season.  But man, McD has really impressed me this year. I think he has improved in every facet - he's ready to slay the Chiefs demon and bring this city a title.

Didn't see this coming. Why would Bill want to coach in college.

Far less work than in the NFL...

 

There are limits on how much time can be spent in meetings, practices, etc with student athletes that are far lower than in the NFL.

I don’t believe he won’t be able to land an NFL job this cycle, if he’s willing to give up a little power, but he’s so close to the all-time wins record, it’s gotta happen.  Giants with the #1 pick might just be the ticket.

I think the Bears may be a better bet...they have a potential franchise QB and a lot of the team in place.  Needs the discipline that he provides.

This is Bill putting a couple of teams where he fancies a shot on notice. My guess is those teams are Jacksonville and the Giants... although there is a lot of smoke at the moment about the Buccs. Bowles seems stuck around .500 and the sense is he isn't at risk of being fired just so that Tampa can have a coaching search but if Bill were available.... then things might be different.

This is so absurd.  There's no way in hell he's taking a coaching job.  He doesn't have any experience at that level.  He spent this whole season trying to make himself more likable with multiple NFL media gigs.  Does he go to bed at night thinking "Six Super Bowls are great but what I really covet is an ACC Championship to really cement my legacy?  I can't wait to recruit 17 year old kids to join our program and suck up to the boosters."  It's a publicity stunt that benefits both parties. 

 

It's about creating leverage and NFL owners that might be or are looking for a new head coach (Bengals, Giants, Jaguars, Saints, Cowboys, Bears, Raiders) might just fall for it.

This.  PR stunt and nothing more.  Give UNC some PR in their HC search - gives the desperate fat cheating POS ex-coach some headlines in his desperate search for NFL coaching job (where no one is interested in him).  Next he'll be guest hosting Wheel of Fortune in his desperate attempt to get his fat mumbling face out there even more to try to be relevant.  Just go away you cheating washed-up douchebag.
