JÂy RÛßeÒ Posted December 5 Posted December 5 The prior two games it was guys punching him in the head. This week a blatant helmet-to-helmet hit that caused him to lose feeling down his left arm. 3rd and 6 at the 49ers 34 yard line. Josh calls his own number - QB draw. He hits a linebacker and gets held up. Here comes Fred Warner leading with his helmet and BAM! Watch Josh's head snap. Play starts at the 1:11 mark. 2 Quote
Buffalo Boy Posted December 5 Posted December 5 He’s a running back. There’s a scrum. It’s a clean football play. Running backs are hit like that constantly. 2 1 12 Quote
todd Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Yeah, he popped him in the head, and clearly led with his helmet. Can't do that. You can call that a "football play" if you want, but the rules are pretty clear and he led with his head and hit josh in the head. Facts are facts. 1 12 Quote
Buffalo716 Posted December 5 Posted December 5 I don't think it's dirty but it clearly is now against the rules because you can't lead with the crown of your helmet So I mean it is a penalty in 2024 but it happens a bunch every game and is basically only called when the guy is defenseless 1 5 Quote

He's not down by contact, nor is he trying to give himself up. In fact he keeps fighting for yards. You can't lead with your helmet, so it's not legal and should be a penalty by rule, but just like DPI and holding, a lot of that goes on every game and is not called. If we don't want Josh taking shots like that, he has to stop running those QB draws.. Simple as that. 52 minutes ago, Buffalo Boy said: He’s a running back. There’s a scrum. harmonkillebrew Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Not called, but should be a fine. Definitely led with his head. Quote

But I'm not a guy who usually gets that deep into it... I would never want to have that job and be put in that position It is a thankless job and you get nothing but hate... And at speed of the game certainly not easy Quote
Saint Doug Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Normal football play, except for Tua. He would’ve been down. Quote

BearNorth Posted December 5 Posted December 5 If Josh is running the ball, and the #1 ranked LB in the league hits him with a helmet to helmet shot, what are the 7 officials on the field and the sky judge looking at? Gotta wonder... 1 Quote
without a drought Posted December 5 Posted December 5 He lost feeling from getting hit in the funny bone, not the head. Quote
Man with No Name Posted December 5 Posted December 5 They 100% should not be running those plays with him until the playoffs or at least end of game when big things are on the line. 1 Quote

Penalty is rarely called. Quote
PonyBoy Posted December 5 Posted December 5 Isn't this why they wear helmets? It's why I don't like the RTP when a raised arm glances off the helmet. It's for protection, that's why they all where them, it's a contact sport. Quote
