Josh Allen film review (Kurt Benkert former NFL QB)

He was nothing more than an UDFA backup but he is a good listen and obviously knows a pretty good amount being a former NFL QB 

 

And it's a fun listen because he loves Josh's ability and the bills as a team 

 

That kind of snow game really does turn into backyard football and what we played as kids

 

It's NOT really much of a X and O review more a former QB who really liked what we are doing

It's harder to actually properly break a game down in a snow storm as has been said

He was a third string quarterback in the league for four or five years 

 

But he actually has some good breakdowns and I'd rather listen to a former professional quarterback talk than a pundit 

 

He also is high on the Buffalo Bills and what they are doing as a team

That’s fine but it’s basically just a video of a guy showing us the all-22 and saying Allen is awesome.  There’s no real analysis here.  I get that the snow made everything less precise but maybe walk us through the route combinations?  The way the plays were designed to attack specific coverages?  Allen’s eyes and footwork?  Anything??

To be fair he typically is better at analysis 

 

I've watched him do other quarterbacks and other games and he typically breaks down coverages pretty well 

 

This may have turned into an Allen Homer fest but it is a former NFL quarterback

Lots of people here do like to listen to all sorts of football talk and he's not a pundit technically and it is 10 minutes of Bills love

But I do appreciate guys who did it and are willing to give some insight rather than Stephen A Smith 

 

I listen to a bunch of football guys and I was just listening to this last night and he doesn't really have a platform and he diggs the bills so I thought I would share it

 

He does some pretty good analysis of college kids coming out

He also plays Madden and kills it because he breaks down how people are playing zone/man. Honestly kinda cool to watch. He strikes me as one of those players that had the mind but maybe not the talent

Fun watch, thanks for sharing!

It's kind of a fan piece with a few pieces of professional insight spliced in.  He does point out a couple places where Josh got greedy and went for a deep shot when there was a wide open alternative underneath, although on at least one of them I thought DPI was involved.

This was more of a fluff piece but I like hearing from other voices and he's pretty good with coverages on other videos

Now I see a real bad play by Josh in the film. around 7:08 mark, Josh got greedy and almost picked - had Knox wide opn for first down underneath.

Yes, that was one of the plays this guy did more analyze and not just "fanboy"

I would want to see a different view of that but I think DPI was involved and it wasn't as close to a pick without that - BUT, clearly there was a 'surer' throw underneath that Josh could have had.  

 

I thought Shakir was getting interfered with a lot during the game, which is a testament to how dangerous the 49ers assessed him to be.  And statistically, yeah, if you interfere with a guy and prevent a reception on 8 plays and 1  gets called, you're quite possibly ahead.

Agreed, he was a fun listen.  I'll see if I can carve out some time to check out his coverage breakdowns, you know that's "catnip" for this cat
